Serve

Keeping animals at zoos for you
and for me is purposeful!
They serve a vital learning experience,
so treat them well, as you
would any animal you may meet.

We know the reason for zoos!
To serve, protect and nurture all.

Let's go the the zoo today!

black with white stripes? Or are
you white with black stripes today?"
Still waiting on that answer!

Good Fences and Gnome Chasing

Gnomes, aren't just found in gardens. Oh no, they scurry from fence post to fence rail and often hide behind trees.
Gnomes are mysterious and sweetly subtle in their cunning nature,
exacting tenderness upon our emotions whenever they're near.

Before you step one foot, into your car,
have you checked your garden, for gnomes?

GOOD FENCES

An early morning stroll, especially when accompanied by Gnomes, is always a blessing.

"Let others tell of rain and showers;
I only count the shining hours."
English Sundial Inscription

It's been said a gnome will speak their mind when others bite their tongues!
Honesty is their way, with a dash of shenanigans!

"Muggles have garden gnomes, too, you know,"  Harry told Ron as they crossed the yard.
"Yeah, I've seen those things they think are gnomes," said Ron, bent double with his head in a peony bush, like fat little Santa Clauses with fishing rods...." J.K. Rowling

New days, new ways, new friends along the way.

Somebody must water the flowers.

Picture-Perfect

Listen to the land.

At a distance it's just another family farm.

Even in silence it speaks.  Abandoned.
Apparently, their story was simple.
Forgo the struggle and relinquish.  Disowned and left to ruin.

Listen carefully, the silence is deafening.

Have you heard the sound of evening fall?  Can you explain the sound of a heartbeat?
How does the rain explain it's falling for us?

Okay-
Why not a Picture-Perfect journey?

"There was, really, nothing you could use as a blueprint for your life, except your past. There was no starting over. There was only picking up the pieces someone had left behind."
Jodi Picoult

"Listening is an attitude of the heart,
a genuine desire to be with another
which both attracts and heals." - Sura Hart

"The humble listen to their brothers and sisters because they assume they have something to learn.  They are open to correction, and they become wiser through it."
 - Thomas Dubay

"Sometimes it's not the strength but gentleness that cracks the hardest shells."
 Richard Paul Evans

Listening, is only the icing on our cake, but also, watching the actions of those speaking,
that is where the perfect slice of life resides.

"There's more than one way to tell each other things, and there's more than one way to listen, too."
Katherine Hannigan

"We have two ears and one mouth, so we should listen more than we say."
Zeno of  Citium

Thanks for stopping by to share this time together.

The Mag - Trick The Eye

"As we face each other in omnibuses and underground railways we are looking into the mirror, that accounts for the vagueness, the gleam of glassiness-
The novelists in the future will realize more and more the importance of these reflections, for of course there is not one reflection but an almost infinite number; those are the depths they will explore, those the phantoms they will pursue."
Virginia Woolf

The way we live
is how he paints-
like silent moving pictures,
standing still.

Still Life, 1907 by John Frederick Peto

TRICK The EYE
and so he did
as so do we.

Time and time again.
Our eyes set highest on life's
throne above all else.

Reality's illusion
Which never happened at all
or did it-
be it subtle or clever
embrace plainness
acquire simplicity.
Dream to be.

See with buoyant eyes
surprise your mirror
reflection
reveal what's in your sight
time and time again
before all else
be that which you dream to be
leave it all to trickery
time and time again.

Six Word Fridays Faces

"The face is a picture of
the mind with the eyes of
 its interpreter."
by
Marcus Tullius Cicero

SIX WORD FRIDAYS

So our theme today is face.

Do our faces express too much?

You know you can always tell
what a chef's been cooking with
by the look on his face!

speech and action in every thing.

I just love Buster's cheery face.

Do our faces explain everything that
there is to know about us?

As each day turns into another

Scattered Good Fences

Scattered Fences.

From my backyard to
Lake Minnetonka in
about 34 miles.

Home is where your gnome lives.

What did one garden gnome say to another gnome?

You tell me, they're both still bickering about veggies!

Listen to the smooth language of the waves.

"If a man must be obsessed by something, I suppose a boat is as good as anything, perhaps a bit better than most. A small sailing craft is not only beautiful, it is seductive and full of strange promise and the hint of trouble."
 E. B. White

But, a seaworthy yacht is even better!

The Mag - Where Angels Land

"Why does she have wings?
So she can fly."
Sarah Dessen

LAY IT ON THE LINE

Do move in closer
 to be of celestial light
none of us strangers
here.

Seizing through the night
waking those distant lovers
flying on lost yore
endear.

Angels a playin'
runaway stars a sleepin'
echoes evermore
here.

Our whispers of love
Lay it on the line we know
a dream from above
near.

She's just a drawing
That's all she'll ever be
unless you believe.

Twenty-Four Carat Day

It's Monday, it's raining and yet there's always some good random fun to be enjoyed.

THE GOOD
THE RANDOM
THE FUN
Look what I found while walking through a friend's neighborhood.

(His happy owner was there too.)
THE GOOD.

"If you don't know history, than you don't know anything.  You are a leaf that doesn't know it is part of a tree."
Michael Crichton

Why not have a blast while taking in all that history?

Still speaking on THE GOOD

Running your pups until their tongues hang out-
and they're still smiling!

Life is Good.

THE RANDOM and THE FUN.

Remember, All I really need to know I learned in Kindergarten?

Well, it makes perfect sense to me.

Why not, always enjoy your inner (old soul) child and
explore your wildest imaginations
every single day.

Wake up your inner cowboy -

But remember, "There never was a horse that couldn't be rode; never was a cowboy that couldn't be throwed."

Yep.
"What a difference a day made, twenty four little hours.
Brought the sun and the flowers where there used to be rain."
Jamie Cullen
(Actually, truth be told, there's still rain.)

What a difference, a day made by Dinah Washington
a video you'll be happy you saw here.

Just in case you don't recall everything we learned in Kindergarten,
this is my ultimate favorite one
 in all of our lives.

Number 14
Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam Cup: The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that."

Six Word Fridays- Lock

It's a lock, or rather will be by the end of this weekend.
I believe I've got this thing now.

LOCK
is our theme.

All on a whim, as it goes habitually, I lock something into my mental process and won't quit until it's reality.

In this case, a fire pit closer to our house and all the action of little munchkins running about is highly important.

But between Mother's Day, one rainy day after another, among other things
delaying my project of a new fire pit with patio it will finally be complete.

Meet my helpful gnome, and fairy protector!

"The fairies, as their custom, clapped their hands with delight over their cleverness, and they were so madly in love with the little house that they could not bear to think they had finished it."
J.M. Barrie

While that may be true for the fairies around here, I'm more than delighted to be finished.

But then maybe we need -

another fence and ........?

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."
Eleanor Roosevelt

Thanks for stopping by to say hello and enjoy your weekend!
