Saturday Critters

Good morning critter friends and thank you, Eileen for hosting this critter extravaganza, that brightens my Saturday mornings.  At first, I was a long time commenter, before I began posting my own critters too!

My what big ears you have my dear.

"What sculpture is to a block of marble, education is to the soul."
Joseph Addison

What are you holding?

Goodness, your hooves are made of gold?

That's not all that's gold either.

"Sculpture is the art of the hole and the lump."
August Rodin

"Sculpture is like farming,
if you just keep at it, you can get quite a lot done."
Ruth Asawa

"Art is doing. Art deals directly with life."

Stray bear in town!

"Never a good sign, he thought, when the crows showed up."
Justin Cronin

You've seen his eyes earlier this week here, now the full body look!

Now I'm off to check out all the other critter posts.  Enjoy your day.

Precious, Six Words Fridays

Adrienne was right on target today!

Lots of tears as I write.

Just thought I would confess honestly.

We're running with Adrienne's theme of

PRECIOUS

Here's Dillon, my son-in-law
responsible party for their relocation following
his company's move to Huntsville, Alabama.

Today is my daughter's last day
working for Wells Fargo in Minnesota
by next month she'll still work
for Wells Fargo in Huntsville, Alabama.

Always look on the brighter side!

The best remedy, shake out the
sweeter, fruity side of each day!

I will miss the spontaneous visits.
Always joyfully silly sometimes dirty face!

SMILE ANYWAY- Daydreaming heals the heart.

Sure there will be the visits

Just not many random last minute

Bonfires with marshmallow roasting and stories.

and those last minute park visits
and being caught in the rain!

I'm not a whiner per se
but a mother does have limits.

Especially when any of my children
move a whopping 954 miles away
from our family's home base.  It's
all a bit too tannic for
a sweeter, fruity taste of living.

But we're a strong bunch of
humans remembering to always look forward.

"Happiness is simply a habit of
looking on the brighter side of
everything."  Even when it feels painful.
Richelle E. Goodrich

Mr. Hartman and Good Fences

Yesterday, while coloring pictures we decided to
(pull out the scissors) and set them free!

In the search of-

GOOD FENCES

of course.

Where in the world is Mr. Hartman?
Who is Mr. Hartman anyway?
Is he friend or foe?
Seems he blends within the forest
or inside fences
 hiding in plain sight.
If he can't find his way out.
He'll be forever trapped in Blogger-land
and hopefully your heart.

"When the world is at your back,
and your heart is at your feet,
the best way to go on is to just be."

Jennifer Megan Varnadore

"Because my life isn't going to wait around
while I figure out to make it work." -

Susane Colasanti

Keep moving forward!

Make all moments count, always.

Preview Evening

Live from The Fine Arts Building for Artist's Preview Night

and

It's all about
that gleaming part of one's life,
which we can relate to our self without blushing
and being proud of one's own accomplishments.
Whether your artwork won any prizes,
 honorable mentions,
or even made it for display this year.

We wait all year long for this extravaganza!

Greetings Scarecrow!

Subtly he shuddered, "There seems to be a nest on my head."

Boxer Clown- boxing around.

Below-

This is not your typical Cad, or even a normal tank-

Titled as, A Caprice Classic, drawn within a tank.

Not your everyday slippers by any means.

Although, with all this dripping mud, much slipping is possible.

Quite scandalous I know and I venture to guess much wisdom lurks behind these alluring eyes-

and some believe her to be prissy, but I found her quite on track with being quietly subtle in nature.

I know it seems this piece of artwork might resemble something on the edible nature (at one time anyway) however,

velveteen and wool are the true ingredients.  Seriously.

This 4-H member (you know this by his shirt emblem) is located outside and I actually chased him down.  From a distance it was questionable whether he was real or a statue.

On the subject of Black and White

This year offered much in Black and White and a few pieces being of scandalous nature won't appear in this post.  But these will.

Below-
I fancied this artist's creativity again this year.

I'm the woman and random folks joined me.

On our approach we remained pretty much the same
(other than the super-white effect of our skin tone) but our backgrounds changed drastically.

Last year animal faces would randomly take over anyone's face as the camera caught us walking up. But apparently that wasn't the smoothest of situations, so I was told. I know it worked for me.

Here's a glimpse of my work, Robot Jekyll's Time Garden, which
didn't survive all the phases and I had to bring him home a week ago.
But we were almost in! So back to the drawing board for me, and better luck next year.

Once again I must say-
It was again another formidable and intriguing experience for the Fine Arts Exhibit at the Minnesota State Fair.

I hope you enjoyed this quick round of artwork.

Grocery Store Finds

Welcome back to THEMATIC PHOTOGRAPHIC and Grocery Store Finds as our week's theme.

Carmi, pulled out a photo from his archive,
 while his DSLR'S batteries charge,
getting ready for his next optical adventure
and I'm following his lead with this oldie of mine.
(While I plan my next shopping adventure as well.)

About the many things we bring home from
our favorite grocery stores.

If it weren't for grocery store shopping-

We couldn't build cupcake castles!

Sure some folks collect their eggs from chickens

But we don't.

All right then, be prepared for my next Grocery store finds from,
live on the set from one of my favorite grocery stores!  See you soon.

Good Random Fun-ness

The family that plays together stays together.

"Let us make one point
that we meet each other with a smile
when it is difficult to smile
Smile at each other,
make time for each other in your family."
Mother Teresa

My GOOD, RANDOM, FUN live from the Minnesota Renaissance Festival!

Taking in the sights, watching a show!

THE GOOD

A good day at the fair is complete with our family dinner.

"A well spent day brings happy sleep."
Leonardo do Vinci

Every good hug, deserves another hug!

Catching Twig the Fairy is always a treat!

A visit with the mermaids is always a splashing blast.

Twig is the best!

THE RANDOM

"Where the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art."
Leonardo da Vinci

My grand-daughter Lyra is my best party planner.  Here is our guest list for dinner!
