Live From

I'm playing along with

GOOD FENCES
live from Alabama
at my daughter's house.

My new favorite wine, from Morgan Creek Vineyards
Carlos
Alabama Muscadine
a sweet table wine
(my daughter has this growing in her yard)

Can you spot the Muscadine grapes grow, in the photo below?

"There is a pleasure in the pathless woods.
There is a rapture on the lonely shore.
There is a society, where none intrudes.
By the deep Sea, and music in its roar,
I love not Man the less, but nature more."
Lord Byron

From early morning stroll.

"Morning is when I am awake and there is a dawn in me."
Henry David Thoreau

It feels unusual to greet the morning, without my dogs, but thankfully their human daddy is caring on in my place.

Don't you just love the quiet beginning of a new day?

After the sun rises to shine -

Mystery plant- for me.

Must find out the names of all these friendly plants. I'm sure most of you know the name of this, and I believe we have them in Minnesota as well.

Enjoy your day and take good care of you.

Different Insights

We're waking up to another Saturday and
SATURDAY'S CRITTERS

Have you ever wondered what the fox tail epidemic is all about?

I have.

At the Minnesota Renaissance Faire they seem to be everywhere you go.
On animals, critters, Fairies but also humans and Pirates!
Excellent answer here.

"So you're a little weird? Work it!
A little different? Own it!
Better to be a nerd than one of the herd."
Mandy Hale
And continuing-

Did someone mention chickens?

(lay eggs, it's what we do)
said the bravest chicken. Cluck, cluck, cluck

Chicken flock some where in Alabama.
(Sorry, all the chickens at the Renaissance were too shy)

"If you hang out with chickens, you're going to cluck
and if you hang out with eagles

"You will soar!"

you're going to fly."
Steve Maraboli

What do you think you'd get if you crossed
a chicken with an eagle?

Maybe this?

Or maybe not!
BUT-Seriously, crossing a chicken with an eagle isn't such a silly thing. There actually is a youtube video about it.
See it here.

"A sense of humor is good for you.
Have you ever heard of a
laughing hyena with heart burn?"
Bob Hope

"I think the scariest person in the world,
is the person with no sense of humor."
Michael J. Fox

So why not be silly, and share a bit of nonsense together, right?

"After all these years,
I am still involved in the process of self-discovery.
It's better to explore life
be lighthearted
silly
different
curious
quirky
 and make mistakes
than to play it safe.
Mistakes are part of the dues one pays for a full life."
Cheerully carefree
that's what it's all about.

Dream Good Fences

Let's
Get lost in a forest

Is she a real Fairy or just a figment of his imagination?
Maybe she's just a winter Fairy moving in.

Trees, grassy knolls and
fallen leaves tread ever lightly
An autumn wind near

The very life of a forest is mysterious

from far off it is quite inviting

from close up it's exhilarating.

or perhaps it's truly music ..... playing....singing...
a song
humming along

closely woven knots of unity

all free for the taking just by visiting.

Wherever you go

Adventure awaits.

Let's find
some beautiful place
to get lost in.

Sun-Drenched Elsewhere

Good morning everyone!

"Now more than ever do I realize
that I will never be content
with a sedentary life
that I will always be haunted by thoughts
of a sun-drenched elsewhere."
Isabelle Eberhardt

I have a dear old friend that I've joined before
on the Empire Builder
ride the Amtrak rails of adventure again!
Please, please.

"Maybe we are all cabinets of wonders."
Brain Selznick

But a trip for me this year upon the rails was not to be,
but that doesn't mean I can't receive these lovely photos-
teasing and urging me on!

So many train stations so little time!

Buy a ticket!

"If you've ever wondered where your dreams come from
when you go to sleep at night, just look around you,
this is where they are made."
Brian Selznick

A good way to be upon the open road-
and everyday between.

"She is free in her wildness, she is a wanderess
a drop of free water.
She knows nothing of borders and
cares nothing for rules or customs. Time for her
isn't something to fight against.
Her life flows clean,
with passion, like fresh water."
Roman Payne

So yes, ticket purchase, but not by train.
At the end of the month I'll be flying back to
sunny, beautiful Alabama instead!

I Love

Loving critters
it's what we do.

Want to make your day?
Share it with a critter
or two
or three.

"Strange is our situation here upon earth. Each of us comes for a short visit, not knowing why, yet sometimes seeming to a divine purpose. From the standpoint of daily life,
however,
there is only one thing we do know:

Taking a moment to reflect during a walk through town.

That we are here for the sake of other men/critters- above all
for those upon whose smile and well-being our own happiness depends,
for the countless unknown souls with whose fate we are connected by a bond of sympathy.

They happily wait at the bus stop.

Many times a day, I realize how much my outer and inner life is built upon the labors of people/critters, both living and dead, and how earnestly I must exert myself in order to give in return as much as I have received and am still receiving."
Albert Einstein and me

They love taste testing with us.

and when we say bring me the ball,
sometimes all they can find is an old bone!

Happily they return, eager to play.

I love you critters in my world.
Enjoy your weekend everyone
and thanks for stopping by
to make my day brighter.

Tripartite

Triple your pleasure today.

First, in answer to Carmi, from Written Inc blog
Don't Tread on Me

our theme this week is

DIRTY

"Use the dirt life throws at you to plant the seeds of your success."
Matshona Dhliwayo

The kangaroo court
just ruled that although they say
"The darkest hour is just before dawn"

Playing in dirt is the dawn of new age!

WORDS FOR WEDNESDAY
(this week in two phrases you see above in highlighted italic form)

and

GOOD FENCES
and
the wandering owl.

"At home, I love reaching out
into that absolute silence,
when you can hear the owl
or the wind."
Amanda Harlech

"The Bat that flits at close of Eve
Has left the Brain that won't believe
The Owl that calls upon the Night
Speaks the Unbelievers Fright."
William Blake

Love
with
Owl
your
Heart

and may happiness follow you wherever you go.

Nowhere Is Somewhere

Truly, on the meaning of nowhere
it is, somewhere.

"Book lovers will understand me,
and they will know too that part of the pleasure
of a library lies in its very existence."
Jan Morris

George Peabody Library

Remember when the bookmobile was born?

Library on the Go and Read Rover
part of the mobile library service for the public library system in Baltimore County, Maryland

Libraries, and the books they hold
take us places.
It's where we discover that nowhere,
really is somewhere.

Then,
imagine a place somewhere
where-

"There are people everywhere who form a Fourth World,
or a diaspora of their own...
They share with each other, across all the nations, common values
of humor and understanding.

They are very wise!

When you are among them you know you will not be mocked or resented,
because they will not care about your race, your faith, your sex, or you nationality, and they suffer fools if not gladly, at least sympathetically.

They laugh easily.

They are easily grateful.

They are never mean.

They are exiles in their own communities, because
they are always in a minority, but they form a mighty nation,
if they only knew it."

and it's all in how they approach things.

Jan Morris
and Me

Be joyful!

Share togetherness.

Thank you for stopping in to say hello, it means everything to me.
