Timeless Drifters

Timeless Drifters, not lonely, remarkably free.

From Minnesota 9-11 Tribute Never Forget

"The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battle-field, and patriot grave, to every living heart and hearth stone, all over this broad land" - as quoted in The River of Winged Dreams by Abraham Lincoln

Please join my classified tour of
drifters, a perfect Saturday morning view.
To places where honored awards don't go unnoticed and discover those who have planted seeds baked in honest to goodness gourmet tenderness of caring for others.

Notice our reflection on the hood?

Throw down your crossword puzzles and
and observe Wild Mustangs bound for
a climate of southern beds instead
of  the frozen tundra arriving soon.

With the anticipation of winter arriving
soon, our dreams drop as quickly
as the temperature and adding layers
to our body doesn't change this
one thing gnawing at our toes-

Being tapped by one recurring idea

It's never too cold for ice-cream!

and take lots of summer pictures

and share those heartstrings forever tattooed
deep within us by the fire
where dreams of springtime are made.

"If the doors of perception were
cleansed, every thing would appear to
man as it is, Infinite. For
man has closed himself up, till
he sees all things thro' narrow
chinks of his cavern." -William Blake

Each time we open our hearts,
you'll experience true fulfillment every time.

All That Shines

"In the morning, celebrate the beauty and warmth of sunlight.
In the evening, celebrate the song of silence and love of night."
Debasish Mridha

Time spent at the lake
is never wasted.

I'm lucky to have found places where it's hard knowing which side of the tracks is prettier.

"We can never be born enough."
E. E. Cummings

E. E. Cummings begged
"Go sailing away and away sailing into a keen city which nobody's ever visited."

I agree... and just be free.

"The snow doesn't give a soft white damn about whom it touches."
E. E. Cummings

... and so because of that one simple act of old man winter
it's days like this we Minnesotans soak up as many summer rays as possible.

In a short while, these boats will be,
sailing their dreams away.

Just a few blocks away, this poor little, lonely restaurant sits empty without a soul in sight,

and it was so used to the laughter of people
 that once gathered here.

"wholly to be a fool

while spring is in the world"
E. E. Cummings

The spring of immensely bigger and colossally better establishments, tear down, rebuild and haul back the folks, that's always been the mind set around these suburbs. Quite sad, for those of us peacefully enjoying quaint little bits of history.

and this is/was the rear entrance.

From the other side of the tracks,
said the one flower to the other

"I will take the sun in my mouth
and leap into the ripe air
Alive
with closed eyes
to dash against darkness."
E. E. Cummings

Sounds lovely, don't you think?

Wildlife, Yesterday

"One touch of nature makes the whole world kin."
 -William Shakespeare

Carmi is calling for Wildlife photos after stepping out
and discovering once again,
even in the middle of the concrete city, nature rules.

So, here's what I discovered yesterday while on land and water in Wayzata,
Minnesota and on Lake Minnetonka.

Strolling by I caught these eyes looking at me!

It was a reunion for Monarchs.

They were everywhere.

I must mention a lot of quacking was going on as well.

"Duck love is recognizable in any language."
Edmond Manning

"Nature never goes out of style."
author unknown

Here's what we saw once we took to the streets of Wayzata.

I couldn't resist capturing these lovely creatures, and the reflections they graciously offered.  It was an incredible day enjoyed by many.

Yes, it's what Minnesotans do, every chance we get-
stock up on incredible memories before
old man winter blows in again.

The Mag- Jacaranda Purple, No

"Everything was chocolate ice cream and kisses and wind."
Until it wasn't.

Francesca Lia Block

"Dream is not that which you see while sleeping
it is something that does not let you sleep."
A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Dream-Maker

I feel the breath of life throughout this landscape.

Jacaranda Purple
It's Not

It's all the Colors of Life
begging you to play.

Stepping out of oneself
reaching for the swiftest moving barge
of tomorrow's day
leave the ruins of yesterday.

Be still, climb outward anyway
bring only that which is necessary,
then, and only then do you
 see the light of day.

Be immersed by radiance
as if you were a rose
dare to own your thorns.

Be alive, as the one grown through
 the concrete of your days.
Thorns soften, petals reaching, bursting for the rays,

of many suns waiting to be lived evermore
be the one that grew.
Be your best self.

Then embrace all the colors of your life, graciously.

On Bridging, Sepia Style

Good morning

Isn't this a captivating photo?

Bridges invite us from one place to another, if we cross them.

Sea captains aren't the only sailors that can look under bridges.

"With stones, you can build walls to separate people, or build bridges to unite them. Do the second thing in the name of ethics and honour, for the glory of love and goodness."  Mehmet Murat ildan

Bridges, or simply bridging brings unity to everything, don't you think?

I have noticed-
"Children are so used to seeing puppets
that when they see a real ventriloquist
they don't understand it."
Paul Winchell

Without a doubt the ventriloquist
 bridges the gap between us.

On bridging our hands to mind-

"There is a lovable quality about the actual tools. One feels so kindly to the thing that enables the hand to obey the mind. Moreover, one feels a good deal of respect for it; without it the brain and the hand would be helpless."

Thanks for sharing time here, enjoy your day and keep on bridging in everything you do.

Critters Aplenty

Critters live and otherwise from the Minnesota State Fair!

Live from a couple of artisan shops, skilled in various trades from clay to taxidermy.  I wouldn't decorate my walls with these, but I do appreciate the realness and skill involved with each darling critter.

Keep

Calm
and
Love
Raccoons

This sign maker was all about spreading the critter love.

For dog lovers.

Hippity Hoppity

Say hello to this people watcher as he sits high above the crowd!

Can't forget the kitty cat lovers.

Pottery works!

Don't forget the all-you-can-drink-milk booth at the fair!
Although, the milk which flowed for a dollar per bottomless cup,
this year, the price has finally doubled. Still for milk lovers, how can you go wrong?  White or chocolate.

Thank you for stopping by to say hello and sharing my critters!
 Enjoy your weekend and critters.

Fence Art

Every good artsy fence post deserves at least one tastefully, possibly delicious art in front of a fence photo, wouldn't you agree?

"Life is too short to stuff a mushroom."
Shirley Conrad

"Nature alone is antique,
and the oldest art a mushroom."
Thomas Carlyle

Yes, more little creatures growing beyond this one!

"You must grow like a tree
not like a mushroom."
Janet Erskine Stuart

(Did you notice other works of art in the reflection?)

Peace of Mind- Listening to the song of birds.

and burning their song into your heart.

This is the kind of art that grabs my attention most at any art show.

Is it a painting or, a photograph?

You tell me.

This last photo goes without question, definitely a watercolor painting. However, up close and as the light hits it just right, you can envision being there.

Thank you for stopping by and viewing more works of art from the Minnesota Fine Arts Building and also,
an enormous thank you to my son for not mowing his lawn this week, so those little babes of nature could keep growing!.

Now on to see what you've all posted.  Have a HAPPY day.

Monochrome

Carmi has called for Monochrome as our theme this week for

So let's head to the Minnesota State Fair!

The fair is more than a hundred things to do
and eat!
Seems it's all about what's on a stick at the Minnesota State Fair!

It was a sea of people attending the fair this last Sunday.

This is as close as I get to the Midway and all those amazingly thrilling rides!

There's so much other stuff to see at the fair, and one day is never enough.

My top fair choices, not just people watching, but all the creative and artsy things people make,
and the ANIMALS!

and live entertainment, no matter where you turn.

Campfire Grill at the Minnesota State Fair

There's an endless supply of food choices one is never disappointed in anything you eat out here.
