Sandbagging

Gazebo in Lowell Park, at Stillwater

Please excuse cell phone photo of...... The St. Croix River at Stillwater, slipped slightly below 87 feet-flood stage- as of 5 PM (photo) that meant the Stillwater Lift Bridge was closed on April 8th, by the Minnesota Department of Transportation, but could reopen soon. The Lift bridge is on the right side of photo.  (The water is touching the bridge at this time.)

The mere act of sandbagging is no small thing..... really.

We cannot change the rising waters, it's far better to accept and prepare .....and hope for the best.  Bring your camera.

Normally you could just walk down to this lovely gazebo in Lowell Park at Stillwater......except during flood stage....every year it seems lately....

I have been lucky enough not to have to use those!. Though people in the foothills go thru that every rainy season.. In fact K rails are put up in their neighborhoods, the rain gets that fierce.

I hope the water has stayed within the banks and your toes aren't wet!
