Smile On Your

Smile on your critters!

Having to work all weekend my
post is a bit late
But here's for Saturday's Critters with Eileen anyway.

"The problem with cats is that they get the same exact look
whether they see a moth or an axe murderer."
Paula Poundstone

Smiling at things around town like

A cherry on top, makes all the difference!

True story, all this snow is gone today!

Is that an ax in his hand?

"Artists don't make objects.
Artists make mythologies."
Anish Kapoor

Things are often not what they seem.

What do you, see in this photo?

"The tale is the map that is the territory.
You must remember this."
Neil Gaiman

What shadow figure do you see in this photo?

Did you know a banana tree is not a tree

It is really a herb?

Smile, if you're excited about an early spring?

Smile on statues!

"True leaders are like statues,
whether is rains or shines.
They never bend their necks to look backwards
They never run away from challenges."
(they are truthful)
remember this!
Israelmore Ayivor

Harvest Sculpture in Northfield, Minnesota.

Trees can be statues too.

"Trees are poems that the earth writes upon the sky.
" Kahil Gibran

This tree stump is now a sculpture!

Can you spy the leaf man?

"Let yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull
of what you really love."
Rumi

I always enjoy your visits here.
and always take good care of you.

Yellow Mellow-Bellow

Strolling along one of my favorite small towns,
Northfield, Minnesota.

Beautiful
Cannon River.

Good morning!
Welcome to another

our theme is

YELLOW!

"It is amazing what you can accomplish
if you do not care who gets the credit."
Harry S. Truman
That's integrity.

Looking for the sunshine!

Lately it's been a chameleon-like ability
to adapt to my surroundings.
Seems if you don't have the sense to know
that you can't win if you don't play-
you lose.

This space Available because the (Big Stores)
are the cheaper way to shop.

"Look on every exit as being
an entrance somewhere else."
Tom Stoppard

"There are so many doors to open.
I am impatient to begin."
Charlie Gordan

"Be an opener of doors."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

I grew up in a little town without alleys.
A most charming place I've come to learn.

"The buck stops here."
Know who said it?
Popularized by U.S. President Harry S. Truman
who kept a sign with that phrase on his desk in the Oval Office.
The phrase refers to the notion that the President
has to make the decisions and accept the ultimate
responsibility for those actions.

"Actions are the seed of fate, deeds grow into destiny."
Harry S. Truman

These small town shops can't compete with big store outlets.
Of course you're going to shop for the lowest price.

"Men make history and not the other way around.
In periods where there is no leadership
society stands still.
Progress occurs when
courageous, skillful leaders
seize the opportunity
to change things for the better."
Harry S. Truman

Be useful, be honorable, be compassionate
Be Honest and sincere.
make a difference while you can.
Mostly just be Kind.
and take good care of you.

Stuff on Critters

Good morning!
Happy day after
posting with Eileen with our critters.

In the scenery of spring
(even when it's not actually spring)
there is nothing superior, nothing inferior;
flowering branches
are by nature
some short
some long.

"Sit loosely in the saddle of life."
Robert Louis Stevenson

Deal with it pup, I know there should be snow just like this!

Events happen in our lives that stir up things in all of us.

"One's destination is never a place but rather a new
way of looking at things."
Henry Miller

Some so those things are,
silly, mushy, open, calm, happy, worried,
goofy, joyful, crabby, and loveable
moments.

"Each friend represents a world in us,
a world possibly not born until they arrive,
and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born."
Anais Nin

It's really time to visit the dog groomer again!

Enjoy your weekend
bake a cake for our beloved past presidents,
to honor Presidents Day tomorrow!
and take good care of you.

Favourites - TP

In honor of this being our 400th post for

Favourite or Favorite
however you spell it
bring your favorites here.

Quotes and photos, a couple of my favorite things,
and an afternoon visit to one of my favorite towns,
Northfield, Minnesota.

"To be too large for worry, too noble for anger,
too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble."
Christian D. Larson

"This is for flames, for petals,
for the weight of night
and morning's distance."
(opening line of sidewalk quote below)

Always make your optimism come true.

Artwork by Northfield High School students.

"To think only the best,
to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own worth."
Christian D. Larson

"To be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind."
Christian D. Larson

I see trees without leaves
knowing soon they'll be green.
Skies of blue
clouds of white
the white blessed days
wearing cheerful faces
and sharing smiles.

Look up!
I think to myself
What A Wonderful World

Do not be afraid to let your mind wander.

In the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul
and take good care of you.

Wherever I May Roam

Greetings.
and in honor of
One hundred years of National Parks
enjoy my post.

It's all about the journey.
No matter where you are
or where you travel
make it worthy.

I've got a plan for 2017 and it's all about more
journeys away from my own backyard.
I'm excited about meeting new places and people
and animals
and yes, even trees.

I've never met a tree I didn't like.

Even their shadows are gifts.

"If you don't have any shadows
you're not in the light."
Lady Gaga

Sink, swim or float
it doesn't matter.
It's your boat.
Be yourself.
No matter
what.

Feeling out of sorts?
There are, So many places one must visit to feel.

Friendship Bridge

Make new adventures with family and friends too.

"Best friends (and family) are the people in life that
make you laugh a little louder, smile a little brighter,
and live a little better."

Even in the worst of circumstances
you can always find a little peace.

America has so many National Parks just waiting
 to be enjoyed and explored.

So when I'm feeling blue or overloaded by so
many dumps
(you know the ones that tug at your very soul)
then it's time to re-boost and reload.

Wow.
Incredible.

So let's start making plans!
America we love you.
No matter what,
it's home.

God Bless America
God Bless Us All

Take good care of you,
and spread your goodness everywhere you go.
