Reflections

Carmi has issued
Reflections
as our theme for

Some beautiful paths can't be discovered without getting lost.
Erol Ozan

A quiet, gentle stillness. Reflecting,
on reflections.

"As water reflects the face
and trees
so one's life
reflects the heart."
Proverbs

"The greatness of our destination
will be lost without the memory or our
beginning."
Sergio Tinoco

Enjoy each step.
Everyday.
Each second.
As Life goes by
one knows it can be relived
just by the thought of it.
Me

If you want to change your view, just keep moving.

"Take a detour.
Discover small towns
and friendly faces
that don't grow along the highway."
Khang Kijarro Nguyen

This photo below is a favorite of mine, not just the awesome view, but the memory of the day.  The rain chased us all day while we celebrated their Aunt Cassandra's birthday in Wayzata and finally the weather changed to sunny!

We did experience a reflection of James J. Hill
and the Great Northern Railroad in the museum.
(We had the best tour guide ever too, the munchkins will long reflect on our experience and him. I just know it.)

Mirror, mirror on the table
who's the fairest bunny of all?

Can't forget to share a mirror reflection of silliness!

Danny thought we needed a picture of us
with my new funky no-glass glasses!

Here's our quick selfie
 in the rear view mirror!

"By three methods we may learn wisdom.
First by reflection, which is noblest;
Second, by imitation, which is easiest;
and third by experience,
which is the bitterest."
Confucius

If you look very closely Lyra's kitty-cat, Sparkle
is trying to catch the tiny star-lights that are reflecting across the wall.

the ransom is the present."

I just love the thought of that, don't you?

Critters on Monday

Posting to

It was a working weekend for me so I'm posting late.

As a matter of fact dogs enjoy the views too!
I'm still curious what thoughts go through their dog minds.

Rusty and his favorite gal Luna.
Their tongue says it all right?
They love playing together.

Easter Sunday was especially wonderful for my pups. They chased around with munchkins (tried eating a few sweets as well) and slept extremely well that night.

I promise I didn't eat any eggs, but maybe a bit of rolling and pawing!

"Sometimes our light goes out,
but is blown again into instant flame by an encounter
with another human being."
(or animal.
often a good book too.)
Albert Schweitzer
and Me

Keep reading to me human, I love to hear your voice.

"There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life:
music and cats."
Albert Schweitzer
(and getting to the last bite first!)

It seems, spilled oatmeal is a delicacy.

"The only creatures that are evolved
 enough to convey pure love
are dogs and infants."
Johnny Depp

"A dog teaches a boy fidelity, perseverance,
and to turn around three times before lying down."
Robert Benchley

I hope you all enjoyed a lovely weekend!
Thanks for stopping by
and take good care of you
and your beloved critters.

On Planting

On Planting Hope

Love Conquers Hate
That's What Makes Us Great
from Bruce Springsteen

Just a few of our new leaders......
singing
wishing
hoping
dreaming
listening
watching
learning.

"Every act of love is a work of peace,
no matter how small."
Mother Teresa

Planting trees is like planting hope.

"Never worry about numbers.
Help one person at a time
and always start with the person nearest you."
Mother Teresa

Fight hate.
Hero up.
Be kind in everything you do.

"Not all of us can do great things
But we can do small things with great love."
Mother Teresa

and never eat the last pickle.

Enjoy your day
spread smiles
collect smiles
and spread more.
Because when you're smiling
the whole world smiles with you too.
and when you're laughing
yes the sun comes shining through.

Take good care of you!

Wearing Happy

Pursue what catches your heart,
not what catches your eyes."
Rot T. Bennett

"Come upon another spring tulips arrived."

But darn it, the heavy winds began to blow-
like so many springs before,

I'll lend a helping hand.
Watch over them Mr. Gnome.

"The soul is healed by being with children."
Fyodor Dostoyevsky

"Be the reason someone smiles.
Be the reason someone feels loved
and believes in the goodness of people."
Roy T. Bennett

Why not
put some silly
into your world?

Have I told you how happy your visits make me?
Enjoy your day and be good to you.

Stuff You Find in the Basement

A haiku theme hint.

Keeper of old stuff.
Down under, sometimes chilly
In lower dwelling.

This week our theme for
is
Stuff You Find In
The Basement

A lovely lighted basement

completed in 1891 inside the James J. Hill house.
I've toured this historic house more than any other in Minnesota.

That which is built with strength
lives on.
Me

Town's first jail cell located in the basement,
or did they call them cellars
back then? My grandmother always did.

Another historic place, this one in Mantorville, Minnesota
I wrote a post about that historic place you can read here.

From the basement thoughts of my mind.

You can spot a kitty in the shining light in many basements.

Things we store in our basement wine cellars.

Basements are where we hide
those things we buy for
 special occasions.

BOOM!

Did you hear that?

When the warning sirens for tornadoes blow,
families head to the basement!

Stuff your heart and soul with nature.

On those days we're feeling blue,
or just out of sorts
we bust away from the confines of basements

it's the blue waters of any lake that calm our
troubled shores.

Really,

"Our pleasures are not material pleasures,
but symbols of pleasure.

Not all bulbs need winter storage.

Attractively packaged but inferior in content."
Alan W. Watts

Thanks for stopping in enjoy your week, rain and sun and all of it-
and take good care of you.
