Thematic Photographic # 150 Signs that make us wonder

"The Rear End" or is it just the beginning?
Of course click on photo to make it larger!

Oh this is exciting! Carmi at Written Inc. has released his theme for Thematic Photographic and it’s Signs that make us wonder” in whatever way you see fit to wonder or wander!

Want to join in on this excitement too?  Just go here

…..So we all know when we’re on a scavenger hunt for something in particular, that something can be quite elusive and Carmi said we can reach into our previous able-bodied goody bags of earlier photos, so I did just that…but my camera will be ready for something more current!

I hate to think how long ago I snapped this photo….and it's glued into the end of a book of poetry (Apples Over the Moon) I wrote for my father.

We were driving some where in Wisconsin, en route to Michigan or Wisconsin Dells when this sign popped out of no where….we can’t let this moment be forgotten… so pull over and shoot…. no going inside, back into the car children.....

Okay spelling is intact, (and it’s logical) but it makes one pause and wonder....to JUST wonder

I also selected this photo for TP for the same reason I shot it….aren’t you just in awe when people come up with such fitting names for their ventures? …and because very soon I’ll be attending (at a completely different location) a “Bachelorette” party at “Lady something”….where we will learn some new moves!  (All in fun) and a man’s button-up shirt is required….yes there will be pictures….but they won’t be here…sorry!

As a side note:  I checked and The Rear End still exists in Marshfield, Wisconsin....but trust me...we won't being going there!

Bring on the dancing girls!
I liked the idea of clicking on the Rear End to make it larger.

Hmmm, are they referring to the anatomical part that their dancers emphasize in their dancing? Is it that they have a regular bar up front and you have to go to the back room for the entertainment? Or, by chance, is it that the establishment is physically behind another business in the building? Enquiring minds want to know.
Not really, but it is a great picture!

Max, Funny Max...! I can't really remember where the building sat, but find it amazing (or maybe not really) that it's still open for biz. It's actually a bar too, and I don't know for sure but the dancing is no doubt right up front....!

Bob, you made me laugh...too funny!

Yep,now it comes back to me...just follow the yellow arrow to the right of the photo! That'll get you inside!

LOL!!
And they actually paid money for that sign. Oh my.

Yes, how funny. That curvaceous arrow, too!

I am quite certain one would have to be a rear end to frequent that establishment.

I posted something last month about mysterious signs that have been appearing in my neighborhood. My favorite says "See you soon Space Cowboy." It's not clear if the message is to or from Space Cowboy, but it's intriguing either way!

This is interesting, if nobody ever goes to this establishment then how in the heck are they still in business? lol

LOL I'm biting my tongue, trying disparately NOT to say what popped into my head about a certain ex-congressman ...

I will be good, I will be good, I WILL be good ROTF

If only I had had a camera with me the day I saw a cafe sign on Lookout Mountain in Tennessee--It read "Eat here and get gas"

I love how this photo came to be - the impromptu roadside photo shoot - and where it ended up. Some of our most memorable captures are stories in and of themselves, and this one proves that in spades.

Amazing that places like this continue to exist. Then again, if the rest of us can find the humor in crossing their path, then maybe their existence is a good thing, after all.

Love this!

I actually live in Marshfield. I'm 37 and this sign has been there and hasn't changed once. Can't say that I know anybody that's been there but it seems like people from all over the damn country have heard of it.

Yep. That's Marshfield in nutshell. We've got the world's largest round barn (actually not true because the real one is in Germany but we still like to think it is I guess) and The Rear End!!!
