Alphabe-Thursday - 30 April 2014

I've been tardy, actually missing from Jenny's class for a few letters, but I'm branching out with her letter "X" this week!  I sure miss seeing Miss Jenny, and her class around blogosphere!

My letter "X" for today is for Xylology- The study of wood.

I recently have fallen into Piku poetry and will use the 3-1-4-1-5-9-2-6 format of syllables per line.

Natural

Old

Mysterious

Chop

Wood found in one's path.

Xylophilous, a walk in the woods.
Leafy
Whispering, woody grove.

Thank you for sharing xylomancy ( examining wood found in one's path) imagine being an xyloplist (one who sells wood) or taking a course in xylology ( study of wood) of course it goes without saying one must be an xylophilous (fond of wood) so a wooding we shall wander!

My Piku syllable lines of 3-1-4-1-5-9-2-6.

Natural
old
mysterious
chop
wood found in one's path
xylophilous, a walk in the woods
leafy
whispering, woody grove.

Very interesting. I never would have thought there were that many words associated with wood. Welcome back to class. With a post like that you're right at the head of the class. Worthy of A+++.

I love wood too (since hubby is a finished carpenter), but I wouldn't try the poetry you're into - too confining for me:)

Lovely depictions of wood. Didn't know until now what the study of wood was called, so thanks.
