Good Fences # 33 - Where oh Where is that Fence

Oh my goodness.  Has anyone seen where I put my fence?

GOOD FENCES

"There is no fence nor hedge around time that is gone.  You can go back and have what you like of it if you can remember." - Philip Dunne

There are folks that travel the world wide
to capture fence notes, to simply share their wisdom and things of real substance learned around an old fence
and their endless posts or gates.

Aren't we all in favor of saving the old fence post?

Have you ever tried climbing a shadow fence?

Friendly fences, are built without gates.

"The wide world is all about you: you can fence yourself in, but you cannot forever fence it out." - J. R.R.R. Tolkien

There it is!

When installing fences, always keep nature in mind.

A wonderful series of shots! I really liked the fence shadows; but that last shot is my favorite - lovely!

Creative post! Love all the images. And the thoughts...a fence post will always last longer than the fence itself. We have to work to keep the connections.

Great fences but I love the shadows more. I was thinking about playing hop-scotch on the patterns>

Great post Karen and I don't think you will be surprised when I tell you how very much I LOVED your flags :). Pretty scenery and fences. The shadows created pretty patterns. Have a great day!

"Not us!," said the termites.

"Not really," replied the carpenter ants.

"I'll get those bugs for you!," said the Pileated Woodpecker, as it tore the old fence post apart.

Great fence photos!..lots of different things to see! I'm never worth a darn at anything at first, so I'm sure I would suck at climbing shadow fences...lol...but I'll try it and practice until I'm good...lol.

Those sidewalk shadow fences would be really hard on hop-scotchers--wouldn't they?

I never tried climbing a shadow fence. But, I dropped a fence panel on my son's foot once.
Does that count?

I like how you capture the shadows as well as the actual fences; it lends an interesting perspective.

Nice photos and I'll join your bandwagon to save a few fence posts, but the fence has to go :)
