Whirlwind Weekend-

It was a whirlwind kind of weekend for us,
as I'm sure it was for many of you as well.

...and here we are, it's Monday again!

So here's a rundown of my life in the last few days.

THE GOOD.  THE RANDOM.  THE FUN.

"Finally, my human Mom got me groomed!"  barked Dash

Dash is short for Dashiell, and here he's being really GOOD, (which isn't always the case) quietly watching the road crew out our front living room window.

In fact, my trio of barking dogs, is sounding off right now as I write this!

I just love this sweetie pie!
Our big bad guard dog!

"Happiness.  A furry face, wet dog kisses.
Simple as a glass of chocolate or tortuous as the heart.  Bitter. Sweet. Alive." Joanne Harris and Me

Skipping to FUN, super thrilling and boldly exciting, little Danny Jr. was a five ribbon winner at track.  He ran five races, but was only scheduled for four.  What can I say, he loves to run and asked to be added to one more!

Saturday was an early brisk, but sunny morning for running!

FUN, FUN, FUN!

Later that day-

A bit of GOOD old fashion RANDOM FUN moments was our warming up to Mother's Day celebrations!  Yep, it was S'mores or just plain marshmallows for everyone Saturday night.

Who doesn't enjoy a gigantic, rip roaring bonfire?

Careful, this fire seems to have a plan for charging outside the fire-pit.

I had to take a picture of our friend Roman, who believed positioning a chair over his head, would keep the smoke away from him!

Seems to be working for him too!

Our Sunday was all about the three of us, (mostly) two mothers and two daughters, sharing the day together!

I read this quote today that reminds me so much of my own daughter, I have to share it.  I really believe otherness, is my new favorite word.

"She always had that about her, that look of otherness, of eyes that see things much too far, and of thoughts that wander off the edge of the world."

The most wonderful thing in this world, is to have a heart filled with love.

Dash is cute. Guess who was barking her head off at the crew cutting branches near the phone lines in front of the house yesterday?

Please tell me Dash is for Dashiell Hammett! One of my favorites, though I probably murdered the spelling of his name!

Looks like a great weekend filled with love and fun and a mighty cute dog!

It sounds like a wonderful weekend! That cute little dog of yours is a sweetie pie! And how lovely for the runner in your family that he added another run - now, this is what I call enthusiasm. I love your bonfire - I'm such a sucker for bonfires, campfires... I don't even need s'mores! Such a beautiful quote at the end!

It looks like you had a busy and fun weekend. I will have to try the chair on my head thing the next time I'm near a camp fire :)

So sweet! And I too love a huge bonfire, or even a small campfire. There's something about staring into a fire that's so evocative. Anyway, I want to come steal your dog. What a CUTIE!!!!! And I love that quotation. (I would put a string of exclamation points here, but I've already done that.) Have a nice evening. Thanks for sending warmer weather our way. :-)

Looks like you had a fabulous Mother's Day weekend. Little Danny Jr. looks SO happy (and not tired!). Five ribbons for 5 races! No gift is better than the gift of seeing one's son succeed at what he loves to do. Happy belated Mother's Day Karen.
