Trumpeter Swans through Good Fences

"Being born in a duck yard does not matter,
if only you are hatched from a swan's egg."
-Hans Christian Anderson

In a quiet tucked away place off the main road, with hardly a place to park, except along a steep staircase, we often find this area undistributed by humans.

GOOD FENCES

After a rainy Sunday morning, the afternoon blossomed into a cloud-filled sunny sky. Minnesota's ever changing weather gave way to an impeccable day.

Through this fence we see-

Mr and Mrs Swan
and ducks,
oh so many ducks.

"Love your eyes that can see,
 your mind that can
Hear the music, the thunder of the wings,
Love the wild swan."
 Robinson Jeffers

May they live a long and happy lifetime together,
right here where we can call on them again and again.

Seems this lovely couple would rather
not have their picture taken with any ducks!

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day!

Like out of the days of King Arthur's Court, the swans are!!

Love the composition of the first image with the chain links and the pond for a backdrop.

Yes indeed, Laura in Minnesota. I hope the book will follow all of her days as a young lady.

Beautiful swan images Karen.

Great fence find! The swans seem protected in the fenced off area. They all look like happy ducks and swans. Enjoy your day!

Swans think they're of a higher social rank than ducks. ;-). Looks like a great place to spend a quiet afternoon.

Super view through the fence Karen, a pair of swans is a lovely sight. I'm not sure if we have white swans here, lots of black swans.

Swans can often be nasty toward ducks and geese!

I have had much for swans. What's wrong with me?

The grace and beauty of a swan gliding in the waters can be likened to a beautiful dream. A dream that one wants it to continue indefinitely. The fencing captures the power one has over nature's strength. Wonderful take and great pics Karen!
