Words for Wednesday

This week we have two prompts.

Hold on to your hat.
A penny for your thoughts.

"If you give Pumpkin-man a penny for your thoughts,

you'd get change."
But what if he gives us a penny for our thoughts?
What would you tell him?

The saying, a penny for your thoughts, actually arrives from a time when the British penny was worth a significant sum. In 1522, Sir Thomas More wrote in (Four Last Things): "It often happeth, that the very face sheweth the mind walking a pilgrimage, in such wise that other folk sodainly say to them a peny for your thought. "

Hold on to your hat
young lady.

"Live your life, do your work, then take your hat."

Henry David Thoreau

We hang our hats with style right?

"Some hats can only be worn if you're willing to be jaunty,
to set them at an angle and to walk

beneath them
with a spring in your stride as if you're only
a step away from dancing.
They demand a lot of you."
Neil Gaiman

If you think about it,
hats really do say a lot about our character.

Thanks for stopping by, I'm blessed by your visits.

when I lived up north, I wore a stetson all winter. Here, mostly ball caps or wide brim wilderness hats that protect from the sun. Not sure what that says about me except that I need hats to be warm and to protect my bald head from sunburn.

Hello, you have some cute models wearing the hats. Love the pumpkin-man. I do not usually wear hats, I do have a few baseball caps. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day and the weekend ahead.

Loved your hat models - and your take on the prompts.
Neil Gaiman's friend Terry Pratchett rocked hats...

Two gorgeous hat models here ☺ Hats are worn a lot here in Oz, in summer almost essential! The hunt for an owl photo will continue, happy weekend Karen 😊

As much as I like hats...I've never looked good in 'em. Love the cowbiy dude with his 'hot pistol'
