Bits and Pieces of October

 Our lives are like quilts
Bits and pieces
joy and sorrow
stitched with love.

Bits and Pieces of October.

Black and white is salt and pepper of colors,
for life tastes bland without them.

I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.

Soon I'll be joining my daughter and

her girl scout troop for another cemetery tour
in Alabama, and I'm excited to see the costumed
actors and hear their stories.

Autumn time is football time,
and sudden fast moving thunderstorms!

There are four seasons

Behold Cardboard Art!

Cardboard has always been a storage thing.
Great for shipping, gifting and storing.
Cardboard has no nutritional value, if it did
it'd be too tasteless to eat anyway.
But cardboard is great for creating
silly, scary or happy faces.

The great garden protector
his job is nearly finished for this season.

Hello sweet Mr. Robot!
Isn't he adorable? Making good use of old things.

It's delightful when your imaginations come true,
isn't it?

Isn't this just the perfect picture of autumn?
Can anyone have too many Jack-O-Lanterns?
I think not!

When witches go riding
and black cats are hiding
and black dogs are seen
the moon laughs and whispers,
'tis near Halloween.

I still feel that delightful essence of  childhood
and the excitement in carving artful faces and bringing these
pumpkins to life and you can't forget the smell of pumpkins in the air!

Oh what fun it is to watch a magician perform
his own special tricks for treats!

In the art of magic,
keeping a secret is the greatest sleight.

Just having a certain kind of attitude can be magic.

October reads aren't just for children or the young at heart!

Thanks for stopping by and brightening my day.
Take good care of you.

“We all have an inner voice, our personal whisper from the universe. All we have to do is listen -- feel and sense it with an open heart. Sometimes it whispers of intuition or precognition. Other times, it whispers an awareness, a remembrance from another plane. Dare to listen. Dare to hear with your heart.”

How wonderful Karen to have lined up yourself for some quality time with your daughter and her friends. Not many are privileged because they do not venture out to get involved. Those pics are great!

Nothing like autumn in the upper Midwest! Aren't the colors brilliant this year!! Have a wonderful time on the cemetery tour. I would love that! The closest I've ever gotten to that was in London on a Ghosts of the Old City Walk with a ghostly tour guide. It was so much fun. At night and spooky!!

Fall does add the warm colors to the quilt, but here, I just long as summer has overstayed its welcome. I did have 10 days out in the Great Basin (Utah and Nevada) earlier in the month and was able to enjoy the yellow and orange of aspens. Here, between Thanksgiving and Christmas, we’ll get the only color we get—yellow from hickory trees.

I don't think I'd choose to play football in thunderstorm season. I don't fancy being marooned in the middle of a field with lightning flashing!!
