We saw this Humpty-Dumpty Scarecrow man yesterday! Can you guess how many eggs this Humpty-designer ate to put Humpty together for the Scarecrow Festival? A whole lot of edible eggs I'm thinking....
Yes! his head is made up of empty egg shells!
Hopefully you had dinner already.....while I continue serving up "edible"
as our theme this week! Devour and savour what you can ...
Also from yesterday's Scarecrow-fest another fun and edible thing is this
photo below
Have you ever seen a Blue Hubbard squash?
Of course they are very healthy for you. Even delicious! You can use these in so many recipes, soups or even pies! Or to decorate with!
Maybe you've never heard of Blue Hubbard squash before?
So many foods we eat today go way back in time...don't they?
Tonight is spaghetti night (it's one of my favorite dishes)
but first I needed to pick up a few things at the grocery store.
I always play around with my spaghetti sauces....and sometimes not just the sauce....changing the pasta is fun too
Besides having fun with our food.... there are companies who call our food by silly names
A very favorite pasta of mine is labeled, Mother in Law's Tongue, seriously. It's taking the ordinary out of Pasta with all natural no food coloring added..... It's a handmade delicate pasta! When in Italy they say
"Buon appetito!! |

Lovely pictures...perfect for the theme. I really loved the MIL pasta, they don't make it in black do they?
Reka, I haven't seen that yet, but I have seen a very dark green.....only pasta better yet, is made of garlic too, that's really yummy!
Delicious photos! The pasta is amazing :)
ooo...I like that stripy pasta!
I HAVE head of blue hubbard, but never eaten it. If I come across it now, I'll try some.
Well that’s another new squash to add to my list of gourds and squashes previously unknown. As for Humpty...I’ve known some real people whose heads seemed to be full of nothing but empty eggshells - I’m sure you know what I mean :) Great selection again Karen.
I love the Humpty Dumpty, that's amazing. The pasta looks like something I'd give a try... and I don't even like pasta.
Have a fantastic week!
yum! i never heard of Hubbard Squash...well, not so surprising...i'm not a big squash fan. maybe i just never had it cooked right!??
when i make spag sauce...i make a pot big enough for an army! that pasta is very cool looking...almost like some kind of candy or something. never heard of that one either...but now i'm hungry for some!
i made a huge pot of chili last weekend...maybe this weekend...spag sauce!! :)
cool pictures!!
I love a squash curry. Perhaps the Humpty designer needs one too to prevent him from becoming 'egg bound.'
Very special pictures. Love the pasta.
Greetings,
Filip
Hey, spaghetti, I was thinking the same thing! I love the Mother-in Law's Tongue" too. Great photos!
Garlic and herb pappardelle - delicious!
That pasta looks delicious! I'm hungry now!
PS--No kidding. I'm going to go eat something right now!
wow the garlic and herb pappardelle - where can I get some?? and the stripy pasta is gorgeous. Max can put some in his lasagna!
Me too Galen - I'm off to make a sandwich for lunch :)
Little Nell- Oh I do know what you mean!
Darlin- really, you don't like pasta! Oh no! Do you like garlic? If you do you should try the garlic pasta...there's a picture of what I use in this post...way yummy...and if will get you hooked on pasta!
JJ -You sir have great taste!
Galen - you're so funny, but hey I get the feeling myself just going through everyone's post! Time to raid the refrigerator, or stop off the computer! LOL
Max- I know great minds think alike, right!
Alexia, you'd never guess where I buy that pasta...it's not your normal shopping experience, and the store is painted the brightest yellow you've ever seen, I posted a photo of it for TP's yellow about a year ago! It's in their foods from Italy.... and thanks to your sandwich I am now going for probably a peanut-butter sandwich and a very cold glass of milk! Yummy!
Bob- I really wish I could comment on your blog...I'm gonna research this some more!
I loved this selection of edibles! Loved the unusual squash but my favorite was the gorgeous pasta! Wonderful! :)
What incredible color and texture! I'm clearly eating the wrong kind of pasta, too...I've got to get out a little more.
