Thematic Photographic 172 Muted

Take a second to study this photo.  Did you hear anything?  Or is it just the sound of your own heart beating that you heard?

Well, you shouldn't hear anything really.  Why?  Read on and see why.....

THIS IS ANOTHER THEMATIC PHOTOGRAPHIC POST

.....and we seek to find Carmi's new theme of " muted " in the things that we do or the places that we go or have gone before......
Muted are the voices we never need while enjoying a walk with our dog.........

Meet a muted Grumpy, one of the Seven Dwarfs, while he patiently waits for his artist to bring him to life..... He really wants to hop off this paper....

Muted- Is the growth of this tree that will finish living life as,
 a table.

Muted- is this cockpit and any future pilots that shall never again fly amongst the clouds from inside this cockpit.

Muted are the sounds of a busy airport, with planes landing and taking off on the other side of this dirty glass.

"The past is only the present become invisible and mute;
and because it is invisible and mute, its memorized glances and its murmurs
are infinitely precious ......we are tomorrow's past."  - Mary Webb

If you have your own version of "muted" why not post it with us!
We'll be playing this all week long
so why not check this out.

You always amaze me with your original take on the world, Karen.
These are fantastic choices for this somewhat 'understated' theme.
I especially like the little girl at the airport - very evocative.

GREAT!!

Karen, you’ve almost written a poem! By using the owrd ‘muted’ at the beginning of each caption it pushes home the theme. Write it out and see what I mean. Clever old you! Lovely pictures too of course, but words always win over pictures for me (that’s my inner poet speaking).

Y'know, I think your best muted photo is your banner photo of the boat and geese. I love that one-- so calm, so understated. It's lovely.

I love your various takes on Muted - so clever - and such great shots! And the little girl looking out of the window is sweet - and you just know the noise is muted!

Writer, I know what you mean, eac time I begin to think I should change that header photo, I just can't..it really defines pretty much who I am... thanks for your comment!

Alexia -thanks so much as I noticed in your lovely muted post...we all could use a dose of muted...how does Carmi do it? It seems like although our worlds are quite far apart, that we all swim within the same waters together...

Little Nell- Oh thank you so much, I too agree with you on words being so very important...and oddly enough I've been feeling a bit muted myself....and it feels as though my words are fighting to stay within....for the moment. So your comment is truly appreciated!!!

Gilly, thanks I really enjoy watching people as they stare out into the world...it just makes me wonder what are they thinking...or feeling right at this moment in time...

These are really beautiful pictures, perfectly capture the essence of the theme...and your words add depth to the images ...I so loved the walk by the sunset, the little girl and grumpy lost in between the others somewhere. :)

I can identify with several of the photos - especially the dog scene.

It's a mute point (!)...we rarely think of the past in terms of it's sound (apart from recorded music).Well Said Karen!

What a time of day for the dog to take it's owner for a walk. Who said animals are dumb?
