Thematic Photographic # 175 The One

THIS IS A THEMATIC PHOTOGRAPHIC POST

Carmi selected "The One" for our theme and I can't get Three Dog Night's "One is the loneliest number....." out of my head!

It seems, after a complete search.....I seldom take "the one" photos, except the ones we all would rather not share..... So Carmi's assignment had me almost at a loss, (oh camera) but then

In search of the perfect.... One - thing that interests me most...

Meet "Rex"....at least that's what I call him....oddly enough I'm not even sure if Rex shouldn't be called something more lady-like.  Carmi wanted some one thing that was dear/interests us....and ever since I laid my eyes on my Rex, I had to have him for myself.

....another one thing that interests me........

A simple (ONE) message sign about King Arthur's Tomb.......

Keep your eyes open for all the little signs we often miss
being in too big a hurry ......

they're everywhere.....

"The most important of life's battles is the one we fight daily in the silent chambers of the soul..." -David McKay

....and lastly, come on now it often interests you as well,  I give you an important one thing

Funny how such a simple (one item) thing in life can just pop out ...screaming....take my picture....especially when they are so different and so uncommonly cool....... a "Handwash at Wells Bathroom."

What a beautiful animal. Rex is a good name for the king of the pride.

Oh, now I can't quit singing that song! What have you done?!

You have a unique eye for unusual images and dare I say a sense of humour that pops up in your writing. I relished these "ones" specially the one about the tombs.

You really brought back some memories with that song! I love the lion artwork. My first One thought though... maybe not so much with the theme... I thought of Matrix!

You have come up with a weird and wonderful collection again, Karen! :) I have been obsessed with Arthur/Camelot etc since I was a child, so that site is ONE place I would love to visit!

Thanks for leaving us all with 'earworms' of that *&$@# song !!

hugs

Oh oh, what have you started with that song Karen? I'm going to have to put on a nice Christmas carol or some meditation music to get it out of my head now! lol You have some pretty interesting shots and thoughts for "ONE", which is the loneliest number which you've ever seen.... arrrgh! lol

On your last quote about the loneliest number, I can say that 2 is the loneliest... after a bad relationship, I discovered I could feel worse being with someone than being alone, all by myself. Being "one", I can manage...

Gotta say I really like Rex, he's one cool cat! My mom having been a serious English history buff, I also liked the sign. I love to stop at those "Historical Markers" that are all over the highway and byways out here in the West.

I love Rex! (Unless she is Mrs. Rex??)

And Arthur's tomb? Well, he can only be buried in one place - if that is it!

For Gilly, blogger lets me follow your blog but it doesn't allow me to comment on it! Here's my comment for your lovely one post Gilly!

Oh your the one is so very touching...and I too have been in that same spot, exactly, different doggie, another name and I swore the same vow to her...but we do have amazing hearts, and they are forever stretched by those we love....over and over...
