LOOK UP
Taking time to stop and "Look up".....you just never know what you might see!
Thanks Carmi, for such a rich and inviting theme to practice all week long!
So, it's lunch time on our deck today.
So why not look up
and away from our plate, right?
"Hundreds of people can talk for one who can think, but thousands can think for one who can see. To see clearly is poetry, prophecy, and religion - all in one." John Ruskin
Look away dear friends......look around you, and see
for yourself!
A magnificent but lonely house, worthy of people roaming it's empty rooms and soaking up the verdant tree scape that heartily grows past these windows. I wonder why this bounty of wood and and green gardens is still for sale in Northfield?
Sometimes you just have to spend more time walking and gathering all the loveliness waiting just for you!
As a whole, do we notice what's right in front of us? Or, are we more often just locked away within our own inner worlds? What is our purpose for being, but living fully, right?
Edgar Allen Poe, said, "All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream."
I'm happy to say this little fellow isn't a dream. He really does exist.
For as long as I've been coming to Linden Hills
the albino squirrels have been nesting
and breeding
and they always have time for a chat.
What, you mean you don't take time to talk to animals?
Especially the squirrels?
True story and funny thing, a few hours later, he was still here waiting, (in this very tree)
do you think he was waiting for us?
While on the subject of trees,
eager for anyone to throw him a look
just how many saw him
we'll never know.
Oh yes! Look up, and see the finish
This year was one Mother's Day Race for the Cure that
was cooler than usual
making the walk
a piece of cake!
Both wagon loads, are two of my grand babies!
(Karina is clapping to the music that was waiting for us at the finish!)
and I know my mother was looking down over us all.

I realy like the unexpected face.
Greetings,

I can't believe you get to see albino squirrels on a regular basis! I'm green with envy! And that tree person looks straight out of Oz. Great capture!!!
I'd never even pondered the existence of albino squirrels before.

You are welcome! :)
Like everyone else, I am thrilled to have been shown an albino squirrel. Thank you!
I like the first shot on your deck, too :)
Jenny SS Welcome, thanks for stopping by! He's a friendly one too, as all of his brothers before him so far!
Filip, I really do too, although some of the children in the crowd were a bit frightened by it! Because it's so tall, and bodyless, I think!
Bob, I think it's his favorite tree! It even crosses over the sidewalk!
I didn't even know albino squirrels existed!! Lovely shots, all of them.
Karen you're title reminded me of the Friendly Giant, Look up.... waaaaaaay up, and I'll call Rusty! lol
I love looking up, down and all around, I believe that's what picking up a camera does for most of us, we see life differently... or I do since I've been taking photos.
I must say though that in all of my looking up I've yet to spot an albino squirrel! lol Great shots!

I've never seen an albino squirrel before - beautiful creatures. Great set of pictures and I think I want that house.
Albino squirrels? Yes I do talk to the animals! Though I don't think they ever listen... Lol! That's a very interesting looking squirrel.
