The Mag - 154

"Wisdom is the principle thing, therefore get wisdom, and with all thy getting, get understanding."

THE MAG

Central Library Manchester, UK by Robin Gosnall

SHUSH CLUBHOUSE

On this grey wintry day,
a chance encounter
underneath the Corinthian columns
 being chased or lured
by a regiment of literary greats.

Literally,
and the likes of Elizabeth Gaskell
or A Clockwork Orange
by Anthony Burgess
no less
or the ever changing
whispering gallery.

What would a library be
if not to lounge about?
and feed your brain
on this grey wintry day.

"Sometimes one likes foolish people for their folly, better than wise people for their wisdom."

Elizabeth Gaskell

I love the Reading Girl! If only more of us permitted ourselves this type of a luxury I believe we'd have much more knowledge, peace and serenity in our lives, in our world!

Ooooooooh, the ghosts that must inhabit these old libraries.
Nice :-)

Lounging in a library - a great way to pass the time. With a good book. I wonder if one is allowed to read Kindles in a library?

Where would we be without these ancient archetypal institutions , clockwork anarchy ! We forget , forgetful humans

The Library is currently closed and, I suspect, will be replaced by a rather large Kindle. Such is the way with the public funding of libraries here in the UK.

I like to lounge about while getting my wisdom.

So important to feed the brain! And I'd rather be lured thsn chased :) That statue of the reading girl is so serene. As Alan says, sadly so many libraries are closing.
