The Mag #164

"In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt." - Margaret Atwood

Spring

1935

by Kuzma Petrov Vodin

For most, it's been a
CHILLY WAIT
 no spring in sight
for me to write.

 *       *       *       *       *       *       *       *       *       *

Spring, as it once was
pledges not, when it spawns
 fertile birth bemused

Winter's vivacious
clamor loomed beyond, teeming
peers of thunder trapped

Incredibly dank,
budless treescape evermore
ever grey, winds howl.

I liked the last one a lot, but then wondered about swapping the words?

Incredibly dank,
budless treescape ever grey.
Evermore winds howl.

Just a thought...

Nice. Yes, spring came early last year and spoiled everyone. But the tips of the maples are turning red... And the weather is warm and rainy, but they're calling for a "winter's mix" at the end of the week.

Ahh Easter, Ostara, , East , Oestrus, all those tongues of flame descending, such joy, while down under in the Great Southland, we brace. Enjoy !

I love the fact that when I need an escape, I can come to this website. Thank you, my friend.

According to Arlynda, there is a distinct "earthy" smell to me year around, and it is not all that pleasant. Double sigh and a groan.
