The Mag- Willow Manor Ball 2013

Greetings and felicitations, from Willow Manor's 6th annual Willow Manor Ball.

The Cyber Event of the year.

Be sure to arrive early, rather than late, unless it's darkness you desire.  Just be warned, if it's close to the midnight hour prepare to be bathed in moonlight and serenaded by owls upon your arrival.

Last year's ball was so dynamically out-of-this-world and short lived, that I promised myself to arrive much earlier this year.

Johnny couldn't make the ball this year, so I left him to his roll playing (reading for Mortdecai or is it Transcendence) and I invited our dearest and oldest friends to join me.

Days before the ball-

Our journey began on the brightest of magnificent, autumn mornings imaginable.  We drove until we discovered a fabulous four star restaurant suitable for all our dining pleasures.  This would be our last extravagance, by any Hollywood status until we reach the ball.

Meet our luxurious Denali.

Leaving days early for this once in a lifetime; Eden-like experience, it entitled us to capture all that awaits beyond California's concrete freeways.   A road trip such as this allows for a most enduring exchange within nature.  Wild and unassuming patches of emerald moss and the endless, draping landscapes of other cities flowing past our windows.  Breathtaking every step of the way.

We were engulfed by the bliss that arrives from leaving our scarred-society gardens to hear trees and water speak, and meet teams of strangers.

We shall not burn any bridge
that we cross together.

Of course, we ceased driving each evening, to revel under the moonlight and tango the night away.

Drinking and dancing, and much more drinking and dancing as we celebrated living.

We stood tall, the truest of valor deeply within us.
We remained steadfast, draped in our aprons of autumn, feeling all too well, the frosty chill of winter as it beckoned closer.

Pressing on, until too weary to drive, but willing to tango.

Merrily we danced the night away and welcomed waltzing mice to engage amongst our witty crew, as if they were long lost friends.

The lantern-lit pavilions along the virgin blaze of lilies starving for just one more frostless breath, was exhilarating and left us in silent joy.

As all trips do,
our journey came too quickly to a close.  Again it was the destination that urged us on, but the hours before were glory spent.

There before our eyes was Willow Manor!

As I reached for my garment bag, flashes of Johnny, danced before my eyes, as he begged to see my dress for the ball.

Even the most ordinary of gowns can high-light any gala event with such a lovely traditional dress as this, my first choice.

But no, Johnny had his own idea of miraculous beauty with this design.

So, off to one of six dressing rooms to prepare for my grand entrance to the ball.

I'm not sure they'd approve of my showing the outside world what their private dressing rooms are like, but I trust you won't tell anyone.

Then what to my surprise there to greet me in the hallway is this......

"Except what life offers you and try to drink from every cup.  All wines should be tasted; some should only be sipped, but with others, drink the whole bottle." Paulo Coelho

At long last, the time has arrived, in fact, to move toward the staircase and enter the ball.

"Are you still with me?  I hope so this is going to be wild."

Ah yes, it's so good to see all the tables are bare.  It's so necessary for two of my friends have quite a surprise for their entrance.

You see, two of my childhood friends are from Buenos Aires, where they were both born with the dance of sensuality, pouring through their veins.

Oh the dynamic beauty of it all.

"Dance is the hidden language of the soul." - Martha Graham

Naturally, their entrance brought out all sorts of dancers.

Suddenly, I realized the rest of my friends never followed me down the staircase.

"Please, do come with me to uncover where they are. I know, I really hate to miss a minute of the ball too, but we must find my friends."

"I hope we don't get lost taking this hallway.  Who knows where it goes?"

"Oh perfect, you were the one that poured our glasses of wine outside of the dressing rooms.  Perhaps you know where my friends are?"

"Absolutely. They're inside the parlor having their picture taken for friends back home.  Just walk inside."

"Perfect there you all are!"

The photographer asked, "Just one more close-up please."

"Okay, no more pictures, it's time to party on."

and he turns to me in his ever commanding, and seductive voice-

"Are you ready to tango?"

Only if you smile like Stokes!

The End so far,
as the rest of the story
will not be disclosed here,
because it's
all highly on the hush-hush.

Can't let anything get back to Johnny you know!

Wonderful dancing. Course with my dates it will by to country music no doubt. But maybe I can sneak out and tango with one of the other dates.
