Thematic Photographic - Streetscapes

Ironically, I found myself on a city street, armed with only my cell phone for picture taking.  So I missed capturing the group of sparrows bathing in a puddle. Only one brave sparrow remained as if protecting their puddle until my intrution as a dangerous human, walks away.

I finally gave up and left them to their puddle. Then today I discover Carmi at Written Inc blog has offered Streetscapes as our week's theme.

Thematic Photographic

STREETSCAPES

One brave sparrow keeping watch.

Floating leaves thankful for escaping the mighty rake and not being scooped into carry away bags, like their friends.

You never know what lurks along the avenue like this strange looking object. At a distance it appeared to be an animal or large bird.

Closer inspection shows it's a fallen bird's nest.

Another odd discovery last week was this vehicle. Why was it such an incredible find that I snapped several photos?  Because, the license plate read: SANTA G, and it had other Santa graphics all over it!

Amazing sights on our friendly streets.

I snapped this while leaving the Veteran's Cemetery.

For the last few years, since my mother's passing in 2008 my family and I share the Walk for the Cure with so many others on the city streets in Bloomington, Minnesota.

What a wonderful way to honor your Mother with the walk.

Naturally the bike garnered my interest, great shot!

There's so much to see out on the streets, unfortunately my play time or observing with my camera days have come to an end for now with these studies, it was refreshing to walk down the streets again with you.

Now break is almost over, time to hit the books again.

Have a wonderful week Karen!

Those are lovely shots! I do like the way you have looked at the "little" things, like leaves and sparrows. A lovely happy post to start my day with! Thank you!

The first 3 photos show bad weather, and the last 3 pictures show sunny conditions. I hope the latter will prevail. When we have had a long period of rain the whole garden is flooded and sometimes a large group of small sparrows will take a bath. I guess birds behave the same everywhere.
