The Mag - 25 May 2014

Something old, something new, somethings given, somethings beige, and a sixpence in the corner just for you.

Thank you Tess Kincaid, for bringing such artsy collectibles to our magpie tales today.

Where is Mr. Sock Monkey?

As he hangs on for dear life,
my thoughts scramble
round and round
in continual whirl
over the
fragility
of my own life
as compared
to his.

The truth is-
as human beings go
we're eggs
rolling briefly
until
in a moment's notice
the curtain closes.

Yet one stuffed sock
survives endlessly
in the winding
fabric
of endless life
with no expiration date.

LIFE IS A ONE TIME OFFER, USE IT WELL.

Thank you, oh wise sock monkey!

It's a beautiful day here, and based on your advice, I'm going to take a walk down to the lake.

Perhaps stuffed sox will supercede us as the dominant primates on this glorious rock ?
