A camping trip has put me behind, but I couldn't resist a challenge from Marilyn, aka Little Nell, by following a form that's new to me, The Minute created by, Verna Lee Hine Gardner and based on the number of seconds in a minute.
A twelve line poem in strict iambic meter.
The syllables are spread over 12 lines,
8 syllables in the first, fifth and ninth lines, and four syllables in all the other lines.
Little Nell's delightful example is in this previous post many of you have seen here.

She's a Rodeo Queen!
"This year I'm gonna rope me a-"

Moral to their story- Just a stampede away he's pulling rank where ever he goes, but she's gonna make him hers.
Verna's goal was to create poetry which is easy to understand and hard to forget.

Love it. Your Pickup Man was a great pick-me-up today :)
Happy to have ensnared you for the challenge.
Glad to see there's someone who thinks about iambics and meter generally. Well done.
my money's on her, too!
Oh she'll make him her's alright. The woman ALWAYS chooses, right? It's up to the man to make her chose him. . . . . . lol
Nice one . . . ~ Eddie :)
...and then ride out in a blaze of glory hers of course...this is wonderful Karen. :-)

Easy to understand, hard to forget. I think you nailed it.
Yee haw!
She seems on headstrong woman!
Nice poem, I want to be trapped by his tie!
"Assisting " or persuading all depends on ones point of view ! ...
just amazing!!
Back while I was trying my hand at small association rodeoing, I was told several times that I often looked like an Olympic spring-board diver when I came off of the back of a saddle bronc. I never landed in the money, but the regular announcer at many of the events told me that I was always highly entertaining. Alas, I did not always appreciate their appreciation for my lack of talent as much as I should have, I suppose.
Good guts tale!
