Patterns- A Thematic Photographic approach

Greetings

"Humans are pattern-seeking-story-telling animals, and we are quite adept at telling stories about patterns whether they exist or not." -  Michael Shermer

THEMATIC PHOTOGRAPHIC

Patterns

Here's picture proof of a castle in South Dakota!

Masonry stonework, pattern stonework, imitation stonework, nothing to smirk at ever, in all of your life.

Patterns, patterns, everywhere a pattern.  Did you notice the pattern in Lyra's computer screen?   Would you believe it's a reflection?

The brain not only receives information, but interprets and patterns it.

Very cute!

Remember thinking when you were little, someday everyone will have a computer?

Me neither!

It's true that we humans are pattern seekers. Most of us are struggling with making sense of our world. :)

Now how do I get a reflection like that on my computer screen?
Food for thought again.

Bob- I was lucky. The computer screen was positioned just perfectly with the correct amount of light coming through the window and appearing on the screen!

Bob- it was another one of those, capturing the moment of what they were doing and seeing later, so much more within the capture!

Thunder- I agree, even though I know a few folks yet, that do not have a computer, and have gotten by without ever using one even in the library!

Yes, my own visual work is about patterns, I find I can divide the plane the same, but create pattern by the sequencing of the addition of the paint. And I am trying to create patterns in my writing....scatter the words across the page...good to read and good to see.

Reflective pattern - opportunistic capture. Thanks for sharing.

Hubs has always been interested in patterns in his photography and has brought me over to notice these things more. Your castle in SD has a very pretty brickwork. We have a sort of castle home built not too far away from here. It is quite old and I need to find out a little bit more about the people who built it originally. Cute one of the kids with the computers. Interesting reflection on the screen.

Amazing capture of the reflection on the computer screen. I also didn't know there were castles in South Dakota.

I have been all through South Dakota and never heard of the castle. Human patterns are interesting, indeed. I study patterns in literature and have read a great deal about other patterns that exist. For example, archeologists have discovered that indigenous Mayan, Australian Aboriginal, and Papua New Guinea people who never saw surrounding civilizations constructed very similar idols to their gods. This post made me think of the patterns of humanity that exist because we are limited as the human species. Great post!

Our brains do operate best with patterns, don't they? After looking at your post, I look across the room and see the patterns right in front of me.

The brain is really the original and final frontier. It is amazing and still really a mystery. Endlessly fascinating.
I love that river shot at the top of your blog. I love river pictures.

One's life is patterned on what had been experienced. It follows through another set of patterns as it progressed into the future but near enough to the first pattern. Never thought of it that way until you said so Karen! Very thoughtful!

A post to get people talking. Patterns are indeed all around us, in nature. A surprising amount of regularity.

Enjoyed your post so much. Leaves you with a lot to think about. Children these day are born with computer brains.

Nice patterns, I'm guessing there will be a huge variety at all the different posts for this theme.
