The Mag - Just Drive. That is All.

THE MAG

So, come what may, upon that divided way.
Never give up the wheel.

MY LIFE AS A SUPER-HIGHWAY

We have all met that one highway-urchin
On road or not.
Ripping through the veins of our day-
without so much as a
road map.

Hairpin at the ready.

There are those willing
to force your way.
Like bumper creepers
egging you on.
Ditch them now.

Press your pedal to the limit.

High gear your way.
Conquer your lane-
be steady
remain fearless.
Their urgency shall abate.
It's merely a test-
any how.

Driven is the way
shifting road and life
of ups and downs.
U-turns and s-curves
exits or no exit, twists and turns.
Lights upon our curves
are never ending-
until they are.

I know

My Life as a Super-Highway
charges my adrenaline
like nothing ever before.
Navigate your course
as only you can.

Steer through that cloud of dust
and exhausting fumes-
and call it a wrap.

You've got this.

The highway sure has a lot of stories to tell. If only one listens and avoid the nasty encounters. Great word craft Karen!

That's excellent. Did you write the poem? If so - keep it going; some wonderful turns of phrase...

As for your poetry, what I have to say is this: "Highgear your way!"

Yes Mike I wrote it all! Thanks to Tess for tempting us with her thought-provoking images!

Gail- Thanks- (I liked that too) it's truly enjoyable to look at the image Tess posts and immediately express what it says to us! Especially when our own daily lives often run cheek to cheek with the images! So much to say right.

I'll keep trying to listen to the advice: remain fearless.

I have been called a speed merchant in my time! When I once asked my driving son if perhaps he was going a little goo fast the response was"well look who taught me to drive!".

I find it fascinating to read the different interpretations of poetry and this delightful piece is no different. I see the road but I also see the curves and bends in life. If the road of life was straight, we would never turn on the ignition.
