Good Fences TBT

"Don't cry over the past, it's gone.  Don't stress about the future, It hasn't arrived. Live in the present and make it beautiful."

My Good Fences post for today is in honor of Throw Back Thursday and to celebrate a wee bit of my past.  Especially important was my beloved mother,
all during some of my happiest memories of childhood.

Here's my mother showing off her new garden that she created all by herself. I'm not sure when my mother really slept, in those days she went to work once my father returned home.  This would have been a Wednesday, her day off, because it was double stamp days at the grocery store.  She had everything in our lives perfectly planned.

Notice how our white picket fence must have been in the process of being painted, again.

Still in my heart-

My very first dog, (I loved with all my heart) Mickey, that I helped pick out at the kennel.

Another special lady in my life, and also a mother, is my Aunt Margot, and with her are my cousins.

We had a very special bond.

Here is a wee, tiny little fence, and I'm with my older sister, Oriana.  Did you notice my special first wheels?  Yep, that's my green tricycle.

A very special Happy Mother's day to all of us,
since of course we've all been fortunate enough
to have been given life by our mothers.

"Children are the anchors that hold a mother to life."
Sophocles

....and children, they are gifts in many forms, from dogs, kitty cats, horses, and to every other breathing, living thing on our lovely mother planet!

What a sweet post, Karen. I love these old pictures. Double stamp days - I remember that when I was little (back in Germany) my mother used to get stamps for her purchases at the neighborhood grocery market. She out them in a special stamp book and when it was full she brought it to the grocer. I think she got a discount then. Is that what you are referring to as well?

A blast of the past and fondly of a special Mom is such a treat. More so in the surreal black and white rarely seen these days. That is a bonus. Thanks for sharing Karin!
