7 July Tuesday Afternoon

Welcome to the first

Summertime holidays generally follow the same rules as camping, in my book of summertime rules.  Once you're out celebrating a holiday weekend especially, everything else in life gets pushed to the back burner.

You live in the moment.

If you're real lucky, you've been doing whatever it is you enjoy doing without watching the clock.  Of course, now that it's Tuesday afternoon, pretty much everyone has packed up and journeyed back to their day jobs and life.

A few lucky ones are still out there boating, surfing or

just playing in their backyard gardens.

"There is an hour of the afternoon when the plain is on the verge
of saying something.
It never says, or perhaps it says infinitely,
or perhaps we do not understand it,
or we understand it
and it is untranslatable as music."
Jorge Luis Borges

There are those times I'd rather not close the holiday spirit so quickly.  So, why not pack a picnic lunch and take a hike.  Pretend it's still the weekend, even if it's really just a glorious Tuesday afternoon!

"Sure, I'm never without my trusty board.  You just never know when the surf's up!"

Feel free to share your own Tuesday Afternoon.

Let's make every day a holiday of doing what we choose!
We'll call it retirement!
