A Dog Cat Affair

"The course of true love never did run smooth."
William Shakespeare

A DOG CAT AFFAIR

His poor little lovesick heart was instinctively battered,
even cautiously assessing
his four-legged options (hound's attempt) to widened
and broaden his horizons by weighing loyal credit
to his proud collection of options,
 offered him little clarity.

Magnus, being a mostly affectionate, pure bred Shepherd,
and top ranking candidate in his class and branded
by his thesis of helpfulness-
he soul heartily believed
he'd really
put a winning finger
or rather, best paw foot forward
in his game of cat and mouse.
He'd barkingly steal her purr-fectly
meowing nature and whisker his way perfectly
into her purring heart and capture his
adorable feline in a flash!

That's very clever, I hope he does win her heart, or at least a life long friendship. Dogs and cats can be great friends if given the chance. I'm hopeless at poetry.

Love it.
It reminds me of one of our Shepherds who loved, and was loved by, all of the cats.

Well done! It is interesting the attention our pets have for animals outside the window.

Hi Karen, well done. I can see dogs and cats be friendly and some just tolerate each other. Cute story. Happy 4th of July, have a great weekend!
