Step by Step

Slowly she moved into the night, roaming.. Step by step, inch by inch, she moved as silently as wind caught in a tunnel of love.

and
WEDNESDAY'S WORDS on a FRIDAY
"Old Americana vintage gangster stuff has a fantastical feel; it feels less dirty in a way. It feels like the opera of crime." - Shia LaBeouf

UNHINGED
REALITY

Rolling smoothly
Every step she took
surreptitiously stroked
around the earth's surface like a satellite
rocketing beyond control
as if she were a Rook on the move.
She never backtracked
you'd be bananas to imagine her suggestive glide
were anything but her shapeliness being included
as an unannounced
force around an otherwise squelched
misdemeanor, of stealing the last cherry
in the kitchen of her heart.
Long stride short
if only she'd worn sneakers.

Both pieces really nice! Unhinged reality, love the contrast of those words.

Clever. And don't we all have an unhinged reality or two in our lives...

Well constructed, worth reading, leaves us with a laugh - fine!

I'm amused by how you fit "bananas" and "sneakers" into the loftier language of the poem.

Have cherries always been in the heart? (I'd rather not elaborate, if you don't mind.)
