Precious, Six Words Fridays

Adrienne was right on target today!

Lots of tears as I write.

Just thought I would confess honestly.

We're running with Adrienne's theme of

PRECIOUS

Here's Dillon, my son-in-law
responsible party for their relocation following
his company's move to Huntsville, Alabama.

Today is my daughter's last day
working for Wells Fargo in Minnesota
by next month she'll still work
for Wells Fargo in Huntsville, Alabama.

Always look on the brighter side!

The best remedy, shake out the
sweeter, fruity side of each day!

I will miss the spontaneous visits.
Always joyfully silly sometimes dirty face!

SMILE ANYWAY- Daydreaming heals the heart.

Sure there will be the visits

Just not many random last minute

Bonfires with marshmallow roasting and stories.

and those last minute park visits
and being caught in the rain!

I'm not a whiner per se
but a mother does have limits.

Especially when any of my children
move a whopping 954 miles away
from our family's home base.  It's
all a bit too tannic for
a sweeter, fruity taste of living.

But we're a strong bunch of
humans remembering to always look forward.

"Happiness is simply a habit of
looking on the brighter side of
everything."  Even when it feels painful.
Richelle E. Goodrich

i'm so sorry. as the youngest of 8 kids, i felt my mother's pain as i moved 1100 miles from home at age 20 - then never moved back. even if dallas was very good to me, i missed a lot of family time...

all my three children are far away.
So it pleases a lot to hear of them by whatsapp or by whatever. its the inner meeting, that counts!

I feel your pain, Karen!

That's so far away, but I love your attitude. As a mother of all grown children, I can relate to your pain. You will learn how to make memories in other ways. They just won't be so immediate.. but will be treasures nonetheless.

Oh, that's tough! We moved over seas when my kids were young - leaving all sides of the family behind. It had it's hard moments, but my kids grew up extremely close to their grandparents...and sometimes I think it's because the really long distance pushed us to make extra efforts of expression and communication. Other times I just think that kids grow up loving what's in our hearts, and we sure do love our family! Thanks for opening your heart!

Hello Karen, good luck to your daughter, SIL and the grandkiddies. I know they will be missed. There seems to be so many moves going on lately even in my family. My grand nephew, niece and family are moving to Seattle. They will be missed. Wonderful photos and post. Have a happy weekend!

I certainly can relate to what you are experiencing. We have children and grandchildren who live far away too, but we have had some interesting travels because of that. Thank goodness for the internet, phone, texting, etc. Much easier to stay in contact now that in the old days.

Dearest Karen; Oh, this post remind me my late mother's words told her sister. My aunt told me at my mom's funeral that mom told her often she miss me a lot. We lived just 15 minutes way but I was busy teaching at home and maybe once a month pace I could visit her. That was not enough for her.
I still feel LOVE from her from Heaven(^_^)

Sadly, I know your pain. It's hard...but time will heal some of the pain, I hope.

I empathize with you, Karen: Not a day goes by that I don't think about the impact our own move had on our extended family. I know my parents and in-laws wanted us to stay close to home. It's a hard reality of life in the modern age, and I know you of all people will find the way to cross the distance and stay close.
