Good Fences and the Occasional Urban Elf

First on the topic of

an artsy fence around town-

GOOD FENCES

and

Urban Elves
Do they really exist?

This is a true story.  Read on, I shall explain.

Around here a good many folk, especially munchkins say, yes!

Not that they've actually all met one yet, but they've gotten replies to their little notes ..... and witnessed little footprints.

Along the walking path around Lake Harriet a legend lives on.  It's not just another fairy tale, but rather an epic folklore connected to something we've come to know not by sight, but from one Mr. Little Guy's spirited nature.

Proof of existence here.
Watch the videos and an exclusive interview
on his own site.

And where do they usually reside?

Possibly around here!

But what do they look like?

I'm sure they don't appear anything like a Scarecrow with pink bunny ears- like the one that lives here, all year long.

"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic

The inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience

with places, people, works of art and the like;

the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity;

the whispered voice, the hidden presence;

when we think we are alone."
Charles de Lint

"The few wonders of the world only exist
while there are those with the sight
to see them."
Charles de Lint

The sight of your comments here make my day so much brighter!
Enjoy your day, thanks for stopping in.

Hello, I love the wreath on the fence, very pretty. I would like to meet an urban elf on my walking path! Cute post and images. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!

The fence and wreath are just woodland wonderful! I think perhaps the Elf has leprechaun relatives on this side of the Atlantic!!
I love that wee church with its red door.

I love this. I don't know how you put some of your posts together - just amazing, and invariably FUN. You know, of course, that over here we put all the little magical people into public ownership half a century ago? Yes, we have a National Elf Service...

That's a VERY artsy (and pretty) fence! And lots of fun stuff! Thanks for popping by the Gypsy! Always fun to see you. I'm hoping to get into your old stomping grounds of Mason this weekend to see the re-opened Keans. Which actually re-opened before Christmas but I'm slow.

One have to believe in something, why not magic, it makes the heart tingles and the heart race with joys and endless possibilities.

I believe in magic! And I'd love to see an urban elf. But I'll settle for your story and it's beautiful illustrations for now! Thank you.
