Pursed Lips

A magpie tale.
Not, your typical love story.
A mostly wagging tail sort of tale.

created for

PURSED LIPS

Eyes closed, she kissed her letter of love.
She, infused and shattered by love as her latent love
pining in despair
 emerged in his slippery absence.
Oh where could he be? A wellspring of bondage
for her without his love.

It all began as love at first sight, the perfect man for her.

or so she thought.

He loved dogs, the more the merrier!

Until, he decided
no more dogs!

Need I say whose heart was crushed?

What..............?  Her puppy dog cried,
watching her leave him home alone again,
and again and again.

Always waiting in the house or locked in her car!

What is a dog to do?

How's my scary Gizmo (a gremlin) look?

I could be super-ninja-dog and secretly make a slip from the car.

Ah he finally called her for a hike to the pike.

Ah, Bright light! Bright light!
Uh oh!
Think dog think.

Three days later,
after their hike to the top of
Pike's Peak.

No really? You say he fell?  To the bottom of Pikes Peak?

Love is worth everything.
Bark! Bark!

Character note- the part of
her beloved dog was played by Dashiell (aka Dash).
This was his first Magpie performance.
No animals (only bad lovers) were hurt in the making of this tale.

Hello, what a great story. I hope no one was really hurt in a fall. Dash is a handsome pup, I am glad he was part of the performance. Happy Monday, enjoy your new week!

Right! When he says "it's me or the dog" (or cat), he'd better know that what he's saying is "I'd like a quick trip down Pikes Peak, please!" ;-)

The critter will win every time.

That was great Karen! So happy to find you writing again although I've not been writing with Magpie for weeks now. That dog is the cutest thing I've ever seen and I like a happy ending! I'm writing with some new groups that have more varied prompts but every week I take a peek at the image hoping it will inspire me. I hope this finds you well! Thinking of you. Hugs!

Karen, excellent, I did not expect this ending, thought it would be a happy reunion, but clever dog, sweet revenge.
