Nowhere Is Somewhere

Truly, on the meaning of nowhere
it is, somewhere.

"Book lovers will understand me,
and they will know too that part of the pleasure
of a library lies in its very existence."
Jan Morris

George Peabody Library

Remember when the bookmobile was born?

Library on the Go and Read Rover
part of the mobile library service for the public library system in Baltimore County, Maryland

Libraries, and the books they hold
take us places.
It's where we discover that nowhere,
really is somewhere.

Then,
imagine a place somewhere
where-

"There are people everywhere who form a Fourth World,
or a diaspora of their own...
They share with each other, across all the nations, common values
of humor and understanding.

They are very wise!

When you are among them you know you will not be mocked or resented,
because they will not care about your race, your faith, your sex, or you nationality, and they suffer fools if not gladly, at least sympathetically.

They laugh easily.

They are easily grateful.

They are never mean.

They are exiles in their own communities, because
they are always in a minority, but they form a mighty nation,
if they only knew it."

and it's all in how they approach things.

Jan Morris
and Me

Be joyful!

Share togetherness.

Thank you for stopping in to say hello, it means everything to me.

Isn't that library gorgeous! That quote by Jan Morris (and you) I think is true of fellow bloggers, at least the bloggers I know. It describes them, at least in my experience. I am always myself (good of bad) and people are always encouraging and kind and funny. It's quite wonderful. The pic at the end is cute. :-))

I frequently find myself nowhere.

I should always keep a GPS with me.

Fantastic owl too by the way!!! Gotta love that!!!!!!!!!!

Nowhere IS somewhere. That reminds me of a movie [a western spoof with Johnny Depp] Johnny D played a character Nobody....at the end of the movie...after a shoot out...."Nobody Got Hurt". lol

sorry...it just made me thing of it.

Hello Karen, the Peabody Library is amazing. I remember the book mobiles. I use my local library's ebooks, they can be downloaded to my ipad. Great quotes. Happy Thursday, enjoy your weekend ahead!
