Giving Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving to those friends and family
 that celebrate Thanksgiving Day.

But isn't
Every single day that we're alive
something to be thankful for?
Our partaking in the kindness of recognition
returns oodles of thankfulness for us all too.

"Rest and be thankful."
William Wadsworth Thanksgiving is celebrated in various manners for the most part.

In our family sometimes we shared piano recitals and birthdays
on or close to Thanksgiving Day.

"There is no envy, jealousy, or hatred between the different colors of the rainbow. And no fear either. Because each one exists to make the others' love more beautiful."
-Aberjhani

I was once asked where do turkeys live?
Well here's one place.

This turkey farm is near Bristol, Illinois

Another famous turkey destination is right here at

Tommy's Joynt  "Where Turkey is King"
"Welcome Stranger" is above their front doors
begging you to come inside.
But I didn't share this destination with my little munchkin.

While some begin celebrating with their families at various destinations.

Mobile, Alabama
The Bragg-Mitchell
Mansion built in 1855

Judge Bragg built the mansion for his family to enjoy living there day to day
from Thanksgiving to Mardi Gras. The rest of the time they enjoyed living on their cotton plantation in Lowndes County outside of Montgomery, Alabama.

But-
Where did it all begin?

Artist
Jean Leon Gerome, Ferris
The First Thanksgiving 1621
described as Pilgrims and Natives gather to share a meal.

and also making mention in today's post for
GOOD FENCES
and I'm still not believing what I read, but dear friends I do believe this will be our last link up for GOOD FENCES!

Yes, these gents are carrying a turkey inside this crate.

Another Thanksgiving gobbler is welcomed
 at the White House
1921

Remembering that it's

Not what we say about our blessings,
but how we use them,
is the true measure of our Thanksgiving.

"Gratitude paints little smiley faces on everything it touches."
Richelle E. Goodrich

"Service is a smile. It is an acknowledging wave,
a reaching handshake, a friendly wink,
and a warm hug. It's these simple acts that matter most,
because the greatest service to a human soul
has always been the kindness of recognition."
Richelle E. Goodrich

Wishing you all a blessed day
in everything you do.  Thank you for stopping by,
be safe and take good care of you.
