All Aboard Duluth and Casual Critters

 Welcome to

SATURDAY'S CRITTERS

and City Daily Photo

Please enjoy my quick but eventfully packed two-day vacation after a long weekend of work.

(only a glimpse more coming later)

When we do the things. . .
"We are an inspiration to one another."

"We must reach for our full potentials.

Our potential lies within our inner strength."

You've got this.

You are as powerful as your thoughts.

Be happy now.

"We learn in friendship to look with the eyes of another person,
to listen with her ears and to feel with her heart."
Alfred Adler

This patio is outside my hotel and funny thing I chose this primarily for their bonfires and so before turning in I joined the group of strangers, all roasting marshmallows of course and our engagement was everything I hoped it would be and more. A couple from my hometown, a family going to a reunion and one as far away as Maine!

"Throughout this journey of life, we meet many people along the way. Each one has a purpose in our life. No one we meet is ever a coincidence."

Mimi Novic

Being a fish out of water has its rewards

"I'm more alive than being lost in the water, "said the fish.

"It's the amount of positive vibration you have radiated in life that matters."
(Take the boat ride, thank everyone, regift a favorite book)

Amit Ray

Let's go sailing.

Your purpose is your why.

Take the ride.

"The sea, once it casts it's spell,
holds one in its net of wonder forever."
Jacques Cousteau
and "We forget that the water cycle and the life cycle are one."

Wisdom comes from reflection.

A calm water is like a still soul.

Paul R. Tregurtha as it arrives in Duluth.

What a sudden burst of showers?

Hope is the anchor of life.

"Occupy your thoughts with purpose and you will be so busy pursuing a meaningful future there will be no time for doubt, chaos and disappointment."
Carlos Wallace

"The adventures of a renewing and refreshing of oneself is always waiting to be enjoyed." Me

Take the carriage ride.

Never be that person that says, I wish I had.

"I am a happy soul despite all of life's challenges."

The best life is best to be lived by you.

"Build me up and I with you. For we are more one than two."
Deborah Day

"Make a pledge to yourself right now, to declare that you are worth your time and energy."
Deborah Day
So, what do you want most to do and do it. Now, before you can't.

"Don't worry if people think you're crazy. You are crazy. You have that kind of intoxicating insanity that lets other people dream outside of the lines and become who they're destined to be."
Jennifer Elisabeth

This quote I bring to you from Cloudia that most of you all know as well. I read this quote on her blog, Comfort Spiral and it sums up everything my recent trip to Duluth meant to me. and here it is. "When you sit quietly
you can begin to see
many things. You have time
to take care of your body
to take care of your feelings
and emotions. You taste
the joy of being free."
Thich Nhat Hanh

That looks lovely.. The truth of that quote on Cloudia's blog struck me too.

Hello Karen,
Thansk for sharing Cloudia's quote, taste the joy. I agree take those trips before your know you will not be able to. Wonderful inspiring words and beautiful photos. I love the moose, the sculpture and carvings. Both the boat ride and the carriage ride sound fun. I am glad you had a fun vacation even if it was a short one. Thank you for linking up and sharing your critter post. Take care, have a great week. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

Hello E.C. I think most of us can relate to Cloudia's quote, maybe some of us more than others. I had to reshare it here. There's something special for me about the Duluth area, it brings back memories that often drift into mind Great memories. It's a place that feels like home. I need to go back and spend more time in other areas, as 2 days gave me little time for it all. I did make it to the Minnesota Point I'll share more about later. It's sand and views of endless waters! Take care dear friend.

It was way too short, but it gave me a boot to carry out my busy duties ahead. Funny how getting away lets you put things on the back burner and enjoy the moment! Thank you for your sweet comment and enjoy your week ahead, especially those hikes!

A glassblower in shorts, always scares me a bit.

I wear shorts almost all the time, but I'm not sure I would if I was blowing hot glass. I have driven through Duluth a few times, but have never spent time there.

As for your comment on my blog... I lived in Michigan for 10 1/2 years, but I am a native of North Carolina. I am so much of a tar heel, you'd have to go back to the 1830s to find a grandparent who wasn't from NC.

You packed a lot to 2 days, Karen.

Hello Karen, thank you so much for visiting my blog. Your post is full of positive energy, I really like that. And I read in your previous post that you've always loved goats – I feel the same way. I love goats and sheep, and I like the smell of goats so much that I constantly have to sniff my fingers after I've petted one 😂 (Yep, and don't worry if people think I'm crazy – neither because of the finger sniffing nor for any other reason 😉.)
All the best from Austria and from my blog break
Traude

Thanks, and I took a lot of photos I'll post more in another post. The thing is I really would like to go back there again before winter arrives. Duluth can be quite the frozen tundra!

We are a pretty powerful bunch aren't we!

Thank you it's a pretty dynamic place to visit, and who knows live there part of the year????

Yes, they all did wear shorts, and for $89.00 they'll guide you through your own glass blowing as well! Friday night was fun/comical watching those folks.

Oh my gosh I didn't even post all the cool art! It's pretty amazing!

You're right about that, Minnesota has some excellent seasons, gives us quite the variety compared to some of the hotter southern and western states!
