Welcome to my Winter Perks post for today and of course I'm posting to
and City Daily Photo
Wisdom comes with winters.
Oscar Wilde
Lyra's pup Athena reminds me of Santa's helper as he's checking off his naughty and nice list don't you think?
Winter Perk #2 Gnomes and sledding
Winter perk #3 find all the things that bring the spirit of Christmastime to you.
"It's the most wonderful, hard, beautiful, melancholy, joyful, challenging, busy, sad, full, happy, so-much-to-do, alone, nostalgic, tender, sacred, hopeful, bittersweet, stressful, peaceful and magical time of the year."
Northfield's Winter Walk 2025 was one of my (must do) winter perks of the season and here are a few of my photos from Thursday night.
Carolers, street dances, Cannon Power Sports on the 200 Block and Fire pits, s'mores and hot cocoa, food trucks on Bridge Square, Trains and Handbell Choirs at the Library and unique shopping, arts and history for all to enjoy.
and always take good care of you.

There is something so magical about this time of year.. love the lights in the trees.
Thank you, it is a special time of year and so many things going on! There's something very special about lights strung turning the darkness into a glow!
Beautiful photos. ❤️ I love this time of year.
Christmas ambiance beautifully captured!
Hello Karen,
As always I enjoy your inspiring quotes and wonderful photos.
The photo of you and the Grinch are cute.
The little library is cute and I love the doggies.
The lights at night look beautiful.
Live like crazy and take good care of you!
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great day and a happy week. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Me too, and spending outside is good for the soul, even in the cold!
Thank you this is a fun event and each year it feels new!
Thank you Eileen, it's always a fun tradition to wander about the snow and as many shops as possible, although this year it seemed so much more crowded and was easier walking outside!
Very funny winter pictures. Love them!
I do enjoy this time of year... While I only took a three mile walk this afternoon, it was 9 degrees with wind 15-20 and much higher gusts. I was cold for invigorated when I got back home and thawed out by the fire.
"it really is the most wonderful time of the year"!! loved your image and that last quote... Cherish yesterday. Dream tomorrow, live like crazy today and live like today could be your last!! i am so enchanted with this time of year!!
Such beautiful images and a wonderful reminder to cherish the small joys this winter.
What a wonderful collection of winter perks!
The photos perfectly capture the spirit of the season.
The perks thing went over very well. Haha....Northfield is another river town with great memories. The best part of winter for me is making the first track after a storm, the wind and snow blowing, seems like it's only you and maybe a rabbit out there.
Great posts Karen. Always sets my mind wandering. Cant wait to see your next creation !
I love your comment about how this time of year is so full of emotions. Cute photos and reflective quotes; a very lovely post to read. Happy Christmas!
Merry Christmas
Thank you so much and for reading my blog!
Absolutely yes that was a bit of a brisk walk and what a relaxing way to end the day!
I know it's what my mantra has been during this busy time of year at work! It's all about sharing fun and enjoying life.
Thank you for your comment and it's the only way I can get through the tough parts of winter, which are many sometimes!
Thank you I make these posts to put me in the spirit of things too! And everyone's quotes are the icing on the cake!
Yes, I agree perks are usually always appreciated in life and for me the more positive winter perks the better. As for my next post, I'm gathering bits and pieces so I can post it tomorrow when Saturday's Critters opens up! Enjoy those winter walks they're so good for the soul!
Thank you for stopping by and your kind words are always a gift for me!
