This is also, A Moment From My Life......
Jenny, from "Off on my tangent" is asking for my tears, or in truth "our most treasured heartfelt moments... |
Mine begins....
"When I was sixteen, of course I knew everything, and said I do, on December eighteenth."
As you can see by this photo of my then husband, we had issues early..... |

I am guessing you tore his picture because he tore your heart...I hope it was only once!
great post...love the photo of the then husband. mine got torn AND tossed!! LOL
Karen, I am laughing at your comment in reference to the tear. Thanks for sharing this. It's one many of us can relate to, whether we were sixteen or 40 when we married. Well done!

Why does marriage to the wrong guy do that to you?....mine have been discarded to the closet, aired only when I want to say stuff to the image that I couldn't say to the person....
painful memories redrawn with humour. :) loved the use of tear like Robyn
Oh, my Karen, were you ever brave to marry at 16...great take on the prompt !!!
Thanks for allowing us this little peek into your life. I couldn't imagine having married at 16 (I was 30 when I wed) but then again, yeah, I think I can. It was only recently that I began to "grow up". I am glad your growing years happened early on. Nice write.
I admire your honesty in sharing this glimpse into what could have only been the beginning of some hard times. Thanks.
at 16 what we value in a partner is totally different from what we value when we are in our 30s I got married at 20 and it lasted only a year and a half. Today I would never even think about marrying my ex let alone dating him.
all my pictures were torn up and thrown away
oh my gosh ... married at 16 ... oh to be so brave ...
excellent post! now we know you better-

Karen your honesty condar and humor show in this post of 16. I love it!
Well this is good the photo only had one rip through it.
it appears to be well preserved.
Blessings
Can't even imagine being married so young. Glad that you were able to salvage the photo for posterity!
=)
That’s very brave of you to bare your soul in that way. It clearly hasn’t darkened your life if your good humour is anything to go by.
I hope you find a man who loves you...I hope you can love him back Life is short
Karen: All this time and I never knew you were married to Frankie Avalon.
Sixteen and married, wow.
you not only spared the photo, but probably a whole lot more.
OUCH!!!
:/~

oh...the mistakes we make! i did the same thing...at 16. but i made the SAME mistake again...and married the SAME guy again...divorced again. ha! i'm a S L O W learner! :)
Franky Avalon? Hahahaha. I am sure there are many girls out there who have taken that same step. But you learned from the experience and moved forward. ~Ames
I had me one of those 'torn up picture' kind of husbands once, too.
But yours looked kinda/sorta like a movie star and I'm wondering if this was fiction...
BUT...
Either way...
This was a great, emotional little gem of a story.
I like how your mind works.
Hope your holidays are cooperating and being all kinds of Merry and Bright!
