Thematic Photographic # 182 Groceries

THIS IS A THEMATIC PHOTOGRAPHIC POST

GROCERIES  is our theme for this week.... and you can shop for more here

http://writteninc.blogspot.com/2012/02/thematic-photographic-182-groceries.html

So let's head to the grocery store....

            Are you thirsty?

Please, take your pick.  A fine selection indeed!

Look, I can see myself on this floor!

Grocery shopping, where every stop can be an adventure...depending on what you're looking for....

                         Lobster tonight maybe?

Enjoy your swim today....because the next water you meet....will not be so delightful!
Do you know what one lobster said to all the other lobsters?
"Oh goody boys, we've been saved.  She passed us up!"

Do you have dinner in your thoughts, that don't include taking home live choices?

Maybe you don't need something for dinner tonight......
Possibly, you crave something a little more.....

.....sweet?

There are so many to pick from........

Yet always, only a precious few get selected of course....

.....and I only shop for these items when I'm by myself.... ha ha!

So many choices, so hard to decide.  So you go home empty handed, only to wish later that you had picked something!

The important rule to any shopping adventure....is to enjoy yourself..... right?!

A future grocery shopper in training.

That is one shiny floor - hope nobody slips whilst shopping for their groceries!

Glad to see this AFTER dinner! Are those beers in that first photo? If so, it kind of goes with my recent post.

Sage, no they aren't....just soda pop! But your beer post was awesome, I just read it before starting dinner....!

Great pictures, nice clean store there, and looks like a great selection of drinks and candies. Poor little lobsters, though. Gonna be dinner.

Lovely shots Karen - a great variety as usual.

The lobster photo took me straight back to the time when we visited a new big city supermarket. My son, at about the age of 8, was overcome with sobbing when I said we couldn't buy all the lobsters in the tank. He wanted us to take them to the harbour and release them, and couldn't accept that it wasn't going to happen. It took him quite a few days to get over his grief.

Pictures of grocery shops in other countries are always fascinating. They somehow illustrate the differences that make us so similar.

Some fine photos here, Karen. However I must be old fashioned - miles and miles of shiny floors are what I associate with supermarkets. Old grocery shops of my youth had wooden floors.

Alexia, I still have your son's feelings today! Although lobster is very tasty!

Riet, Oh I hope you do, this is a fun weekly challenge with a new theme every week, (wide open for you to interpret) your lovely photos would be excellent here....and your wit! It's also fun because I love taking pictures and this is an excuse to take more just in case it may be a theme one week!

Bob, I know what you mean. We have lots of those supermarkets that really appear more like warehouses, but you do get awesome deals there...this one is a family owned business, although many of those are going quickly because the big box stores are taking over!
I still miss our local grocer that started this town (where I live) after their huge renovation they still shut down, not enough business, and now their building was changed to a hockey rink!

Alan- I totally agree and when I visit other places I love to see their idea of things...it's so sad when I can go from Minnesota to Hartford, Conn. and see the exact same stores...grrrr...I so enjoy the local flavors....

Bethe- I do enjoy buying lobster away from home! It's bringing the poor little things into my kitchen that I just won't ever do! ;)

I'm with you about the lobster - will eat it but will never cook it myself.

Good pictures, beer, lobster, looks like my kind of store. I don't believe the lobster said that. Do you also like lobster?

Greetings,
Filip

Can I come shopping with you someday? You seem to have way more fun in the grocery aisles than I do.

I love this series of photos, Karen. I feel like I was right there.
