Thematic Photographic 195

THEMATIC PHOTOGRAPHIC

Can you guess what our theme is this week?

Well, Carmi says it's "Bushes and Trees" .... but aren't they really the same thing?

Where I live, when we want to purchase some of nature's lovely gifts we shop in places like this....

So many choices, just waiting for you, to snatch them up and take them home with you!

If you feel you need a little assistance there are plenty of landscape designers ready to plan a perfect decor for your yard.

You name it, and you can plant it!
Have you ever wondered where the majority of these trees and shrubs, or bushes actually grow?

Oh where, oh where do they grow?

Here's a glimpse of

......tree farms.
That's not just dirt in the center of the photo, it's new growth!

Baby (somethings) growing in even rows.....

Tree farms not far from where I live.

It's amazing what you can discover just around the corner and throughout the valley where you live.  It's always easy to stumble upon new things.

At some garden centers they even decorate around the cart stalls with fine shrubs and trees.

This poor globe, how it must itch in many places! Will no god be kind enough to spread a salve of birches over its sores?
Henry David Thoreau

Just another satisfied customer, driving his prizes home!

A poem for tree lovers

I think that I shall never see
A billboard lovely as a tree.
Indeed, unless the billboards fall
I'll never see a tree at all.

Ogden Nash

I like the gates. :)

The "in shop" and "adopted" trees... makes me a bit sad for the trees longing for a home.

I've never been very clear about the difference between a tree, a shrub and a bush. Whatever they are - those in your photographs are very handsome.

Sage, I know! Every time I wander these gardens, I notice poor lost little souls just wishing for water even! So many waiting, so few people shopping! If we don't plant them they won't grow right!

Lisa- my thoughts exactly!

Alan- you are so right! This is the time of year too when the garden centers get real busy!

And what about all those bushes and trees growing up in the woods, with nobody to care for them??

;-)

P.S. I'm glad Carmi went with this theme...I could almost visualize him thinking, "No, this is too e.z. for the people who come around this blog."

Sometimes, ez is pleasy!

I do miss the trees in New Hampshire. Yes, they have trees in Florida, but they're not the same.

ifthethunderdontgetya - I totally agree!

JJ I know what you mean, but Florida has some wonders in the nature section too! :)

Trees and bushes are sold at the garden centres here too, but not quite the same as yours. You’ve found some lovely examples.

Love the poem at the end! And all the little trees in a row. Beautiful pictures.

I like the poem by Ogden Nash! Trees, bushes, and shrubs are good for both humans and animals!

It just so happenes that in the last month we have planted three new fruit trees bought from a garden centre. I'm counting the leaves as they burst open.
My wife would get lost in a garden centre like the one you've shown.

Cool, I never knew that there were such things as tree farms. I always just thought that the farmers had lots of trees. I wonder if we have any near my house? I'll try and check next time my dad and me go on one of our road trips! : )

I have seen Christmas tree farms - but not ones like these. Interesting - I always wonder at garden centres what happens to the ones that nobody buys, and which get too big and root-bound... do they just get put in the tree trash? Sad.

Great pictures; love those trees!! :)

Great photos on a great theme! I always feel sorry for the ones left behind! But would you believe I couldn't get what I wanted at my local Garden Centre?? I want a large prickly bush (to discourage my dog wandering where he shouldn't) and all they had were dwarf or "compacta" types. :(
