Thematic Photographic #210 Parallelism

THEMATIC PHOTOGRAPHIC

PARALLELISM- Is this week's theme  for Thematic Photographic where Carmi from "Written Inc" blog is calling for our interpretation all week long, and you can join too!

Parallel lines, parallel lines
that's how we sit day after day
behind parallel walls and parallel windows
just
standing in circles, sitting in queues

but

What if we sat back in our chair
tilted our heads and looked out
our parallel window

and saw

Birds in flight
and
Parallel lines, parallel lines
Movin' together but we never touch

flying together my faithful companion

Sometimes I wonder how we ever survive
Caught in between these parallel lines

Parallel lines, parallel lines
That's how you and I live in parallel lines.

Will we ever escape?

Is there a song about Parallel Lines running through your head right about now?

Check this out

You made that sound so claustrophobic. Great choice of pics to use to compare too. Well done!

Clever parallels I was almost fooled they were real birds until I saw the close up.

I LOVE birds formations. While teaching patrol at Marine Corps Combat Training, I would always tell my Marines "Do like the birds and march as a unit." The same techniques work during drills and life fire training. Aren't birds fascinating?

There is something very disconcerting about those birds, actually . help! I don't know why, exactly, can't put my finger on a reason.....

Gotta love those Canadian Geese, eh? I love hearing them fly overhead in their perfect vees. Almost as if the geometry is buried in their DNA. Wait, I think it is!

The first picture totally captures me, Karen: What is it?

I love your take on this weeks theme. Very original narrative.

The geese sculpture is wonderful but I'm with Carmi I'm being drawn into the squares of that first shot.

I had never thought of the concrete jungle where I work in terms of parallel lines, but you've put that in perspective for me. Now if I could just get a window to look out of...

Just had some fun catching up a bit on your blog. I have not been reading much the last few weeks. Summer, I guess--spending lots of time outside. But always a treat to come here and see what you are up to.

sometimes we just gotta turn those parallels in another direction so we can escape!! maybe into a parallel universe?!!!!

I like the geese, but I have to admit those verticals nearly make me dizzy just sitting here. Guess I want the birds to fly free!

The more days that have passed since the theme, the more I see in life all around, literally and figuratively! Enjoyed your pics and thoughts!
