Saturday Centus - Never Say

SATURDAY CENTUS

Jenny, from "Off on my tangent blog" could possibly too busy working some word finds, (smiles) but, I know she's waiting for our Saturday Centus posts of no more than 104 words, any style writing and any photos with the prompt of

WORDS CAN BE PUZZLING.....

Unless you know the story behind them.
If not,
"Words can be puzzling"

Even if you do understand what market they're supporting, you still may need to see more of the picture, right?

Do they really want you to think airplane when it's trains they're selling?

Even with the finished picture you might still be puzzled.  Personally, I'd rather keep my mind.

Sure we all get ads like
Saniflush, and Bisquick

But what about these puzzling advertisements?

What are they selling?

or

Seriously? What kind of pain is sweet?

Sure, I know many of you know what business this is, but you know the words are more than puzzling.

...and the rest of it is?

If the words aren't puzzling enough for us, there are those ads that like to play with our senses.  Like the entire billboard with one single grape.

Yes, Jenny, from Saturday Centus, you are right "words can be puzzling" that's why I like those words and especially ads that speak straightforward.

Like this ....

You know just what to expect.

Nicely done! I love your pictures that show how the right or "not so right" words can talk to us. It amazes me how much leave that advertisers think they can take. I guess I'm just getting old...

Karen, great Centus! I wish I had thought of it, because Joey sent me some terrific signs from Scotland that were VERY odd!

I agree, pain can not be sweet. Not for me.

Many of our local convenience stores becoming Kum & Gos has not helped raise my level of natural maturity.

It's no wonder so many of our kids are messed up, the ad "Pain is sweet" irritates me, there's so many youth today who are cutters, this message tells them that it's alright to be doing so! Our media needs to be shaken up a bit I'd say. I wonder if the individual who made up that ad has ever seen a youth who cuts themselves up to feel the pain, to numb themselves, or to punish themselves. I'm sorry for the rant... the darn media!

Other than that it's good the person has their warning sign up... warning of seeing ghosts! That's hilarious!

Have a great day Karen!

Darlin, I know I so agree-I almost didn't post that....I worry for our youths and even more so the youths of tomorrow ....we need to pay attention before it's too late!

Words sure make ya think, don't they?

Like Don Draper would say: A puzzling ad is not a good ad.

Hmmm...

That top one was intriquing but I thought of it more as art.

The pain one baffled me.

Are you allowed to advertise that kinky stuff in public?

ha!
