Thematic Photographic 214 - Grounded

THEMATIC PHOTOGRAPHIC

GROUNDED

Lost little treasures from yesterday grounded for a life of weathering and want not, as they linger about these tucked away acres, remembering their better days.

Carmi mentioned that while our theme this week is grounded, it probably should contain some ground in our photo.

There actually is ground here, but the entire point to what's grounded in my photo below
is all about what's rising over the ground.

Flood waters.... taken by cell phone,

2010 and about 5:35 in the evening, and we're grounded from access to the lower level where these stairs lead.

What lurks below the waters?

"Phin, history is filled with false realities.  If we stopped at what we know to be true, we'll never discover that it's actually false.  The Earth would still be flat." - Ethan Cottington. - Memoirs of a Mermaid Book 1

"I must be a mermaid....I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living." -
Anais Nin

Please, these mushrooms aren't for picking!

All the wheels of this wagon are slowly slipping deeper and deeper into the ground.

Belle Plaine Huey
or UH-1H Iroquois
in Belle Plaine, Mn.

No more fly overs, or circling in the air for this Huey as it's grounded on cement.

As a child I feared cemeteries- grown-up I find them fascinating.

If I could give you one key and one key only to more abundant life,
I would give you a sense of your own worth,
an unshakable sense of your own dignity
as one grounded in the source of the cosmic dance
as one who plays a unique part in the unfolding
of the story of the world. - Greta Crosby

Learn this before it's too late.

It's really not so bad to stay grounded here as tree people.  It's the way we were raised.

Oops! Be careful I think the Huey escaped! :)

If you haven't been grounded by a load of things to do and wish to view more

Very cool series. I like the tree people - the mushrooms are cute too. Did you go out looking for these just for this week's theme? You are certainly good at finding suitable shots!

The wagon wheel says it for all abandoned things. Great collection but after 48 hours rain, a months rain in 24 flood pictures are not my favourites at the moment.

Lots of lovely choices here but I do like the tree people I must confess. It's funny about the Huey escaping as we often get them over here in Lanzarote. Air- Sea Rescue use them and the other day the Spanish army were visiting.

Great quotes and interesting photos-- like the Nin quote!

Interesting that grounded can be a good thing, as in being grounded in faith or courage, or a not so good thing, as in a plane being grounded. Grounded can also happen under water or up high like the helicopter. A simple word with many meanings. Great photos as always.

Heeee hee!! Those shots were fun, as well as the story line! I needed a make me smile moment - glad I visited here for it!

Alexia- thanks, and actually these are all just shots I took just to take, some old, and the mermaid was on Sunday from the Renn-Fest! I tried a few pictures that didn't turn out....like fallen apples...I need to go back there....nothing says grounded then fallen apples by the way side...mixed with autumn leaves and bees hovering over top!

Great pictures! I really like the wooden couple in the back yard - ultra cool. And I don't think that wagon wheel is going anywhere soon.

Great shots! I love the wagon wheel - well and truly grounded. And the little figures - great!

What lurks below the waters?

The KRAKEN!

P.S. The helicopter makes me think of dragonflies.
