The Mag - 158

I write today in honor of Dr. Seuss
Theodor Seuss Geisel
and what would have been his 109th birthday
on March 2, 2013

Somehow or Another I know it's just so.

They just recently met.  But they kissed these two
as though they had a thousand times before, yet neither had a clue
being as inseparable as peas in a pod, that they were such an odd pair.
They shared a merry sort of reckless desire, I swear.
Most likely they'd kiss lips-to-lips from here to there, in ten feet of snow
They most assuredly would, you know, with their hearts all aglow.
Somehow or another I know it's just so.

Unless of course, he were to change course and just go!

“When beetles fight these battles in a bottle with their paddles
and the bottle's on a poodle and the poodle's eating noodles...
...they call this a muddle puddle tweetle poodle beetle noodle
bottle paddle battle.”
From Fox in Socks by Dr. Seuss

I think much more sympathy should be shone Wile E. Coyote, and Yosemite Sam is greatly misunderstood.

Dr. Seuss helped my 3 children how to read, as confusing or tongue twisting his words were, the repetition is good for the kids. The best way to learn, in my opinion, is through fun and fun Dr. Seuss was.

Have a wonderful week Karen!

Wonderful tribute, excellent trip down memory lane, and a very fun read!

I thought you might do this after your disappointment with google! A fitting tribute.

I'm just reading a book (fiction) where the main character is trying to write an introduction to a poetry anthology and he praises Dr Seuss as being one of his early influences. Do you know the book? It's called 'The Anthologist' by Nicholson Baker - google it:)

I don't know much about Dr Seuss. I remember colorful drawings. I really like the first quote!

My kids loved Dr. Seuss! I read somewhere that someone told him, he'd never be a good writer or something along those lines. Well, he should those doubting Thomases! What a fun post! Thanks for visiting today's Alphabe-Thursday! :)
