Thematic Photographic - 239 Leaves

"And the leaves were telling secrets to the wind."
 - Peter Mulvey

Lake Pepin

Carmi has decided on an interesting theme for many of us this week with the winter we've been having this spring!

I took this a couple weeks ago in Old Frontenac, Minnesota.

These tulip leaves have seen better days.  But the bulbs are going to be replanted!

Then, I have this old project-

I wonder if Carmi recalls his leaf project that he gave us, quite some time ago.  He asked us to pick a leaf or more, and press them for something he'd disclose later.

Well, I'm not so sure what he had in mind, but here are some I stuck away for his Thematic Photographic leaf project.

I see the leaves you saved came in handy, and without a doubt this Spring sure has the feel of winter going on, like our Spring and Summer months aren't to short already! Sigh...

You have wonderful shots! I especially like the pot of tulips that have seen better days. As you say, they will again see better days.

Um, I counted only 236 leaves, but I concede that math is hard (being a blonde to the bone notwithstanding).

The tulips can be a symbol of vanitas; everything will decay someday. It used to be a populair subject for painters in the 17th century.

Lake Poplin is beautiful!

Did you know it hit 101 here in D.C. earlier today?

Minnesota has the loveliest wintry lake scenes I've ever seen. And you manage to capture them so expertly. I can almost feel the cold around Lake Pepin.

Thank you for reminding me of the pressed leaf challenge. I need to close that loop :)
