Sequestration?

No matter what political party any of us belong to, a shut-down-of-any-government, is not the answer.  Even if it doesn't directly involve you, there are others, suffering.

YES!

Normally, I leave politics and other such topics, in my head, period. Seldom, will I bore your day, or mine with anything that dwells in the negative.  If a dog doesn't do it, chances are, either will I.  Seriously, Life is too short.

But, like a good-hearted American citizen,  I had a thought.  Or, possibly a dream.  In truth, or rather reality, it's surely my inner-self begging our United States Government to do the right thing.

THE SIMPLE ANSWER

If our United States Government can conduct a shut-down, with pay, the remedy for a quick, make no haste, and swiftly resolve all issues at hand NOW, would be simply-

the appropriate answer.

SEQUESTER them all just like we do jurors, and keep them locked up, until they work it out.

Silly? Stupid? Outrageous?  Maybe.  I know from being on a jury myself, when it comes time to be locked up in some not so swank hotel, (no phones) things get resolved, quickly.

I don't know. I kinda have more faith in the private market.

I wouldn't mind if all the federal agencies closed down.

What we really need, could be handled in the private market.

Now understand...I'm just thinking out loud...and not suggesting you and I outfit ourselves in fatigues and m14s.

I'm assuming they won't lose their checks. Yep, I like that idea. Lock 'em up til they get it right.

Great idea! Sort of like siblings having to wear the "I can't get along" t-shirt until they can work it out! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I rather like your thoughts Karen, some things would most likely get resolved much quicker and make them eat pizza and take out while they're sequestered, none of this fancy catering for them!

I usually hate to post on politics also, because so many people are sick of it. However, your suggestion is terrific. You got my vote. Coincidentally, I just posted on the same subject.

I love it! Wish I'd thought of it.

I want my aircraft inspectors
and children's nutrition programs
back please!

They can stop the corporate welfare entitlements anytime though!

I vote for YOU

On one hand, I think it is good that so many in Congress have abandoned all pretense of caring about anything but promoting their agendas, but on the other hand, I find it most appalling that so very few of us seem to really care. Hey, we live in arguably Tea Party Central, here in the southwestern part of Missouri, and there is absolutely no talk of trying to find some common ground for the greater good of us all to be heard anywhere.

I'm not sure why you picked Marcus Aurelius, but he was a very wise man and philosopher, I'm sure he would agree with you!

Rob- he was very wise indeed and we sure could use some wisdom right now! :)
