Quote It Saturday - 2 November 2013

Our quotes for this Saturday has no theme given out. It's what we desire.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that.  Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."  - Martin Luther King, Jr.

The radio makes hideous sounds."  Bob Dylan

Listen instead to nature's voice.

THE SINGING, RINGING TREE

Our lives are made up of sights and sounds and smells, and we shall grasp them all before reality of life sets in.

The Singing Ringing Tree, is a wind powered sound sculpture that resembles a tree set in the landscape of the Pennine hill range that overlooks Burnley, in Lancashire, England.

The Singing, Ringing Tree can be heard (best) here and also from heard here.  Photos of it as well.

"Music is nothing else but wild sounds civilized into time and tune."
 - Thomas Fuller

I like sound sculptures, I have encountered a few recently and they are just fascinating! Is this one permanent?

The singing tree looks amazing, I had not heard of it before. I love that last quote.

Jenny, I'm not sure, I haven't read anything about it being short lived. It was completed in 2006 so it's been up for a while already.
