The Mag - 194

"....her conviction that love that did not find its expression in a letter was not perfect."  Ian McEwan

THE MAG

Playfully reluctant
she entered the church.

An amiable conclusion
a style so unlike her.

Solicitous at best
 a pattern more like her.

She being a party
to this pleasant gathering.

Kissed by the searing brilliance
of ignored heresy drawing them together.

Now a wisp of memories
bathed in fugitive laughter.
Drawn to
an odor of delusion.
Bedazzled
by the profusion
gently
hissing
all the while
at the hollowness
beneath the veil
of conclusion.

Loved this procession of lines, the way the words and rhyme fall, the word "hissing" which draws even more intrigue because of the location they are in. Leaves much to the imagination as to what is referenced here.

How often couples lose sight of the advice that their vows should "not be taken lightly or unwontedly"
Ably stated in your poem.

Most excellent! I could feel her bitterness in your words. I hope to get back with The Mag program around the first of the year.
