Good Fences - # 5 24 April 2014

"There is no fence nor hedge round time that is gone.  You can go back and have what you like of it if you can remember."  Philip Dune

Please join me on this week's visit to Dakota City!

A FENCE PORTAL
and a Secret Mission!
One of these photos (not the one after the poem) doesn't belong here.  See if you can guess which one it is.

Come stroll along with me.

What do we spy through here?  Golf anyone?

Thanks for visiting the Dakota City Heritage Village.
Come Dakota County Fair time, this place will be crawling, with a great many characters springing  to life!

To check out other Good Fences please go here.

I like this...a great array of different fencing.

You might have thought they'd have made the sign a bit more attractive.

I've seen that split rail fence before, haven't I?

Therefore, I guess TexWisGirl is right.

the first fence is like mine, except stone post instead of wood, and i love that rail fence.. my kind of fence as is the place to visit.
our park is more than 120 acres with something for everyone, aquatic center, gym, many fields for football and soft ball, tennis courts, 3 acre fenced dog park for off leash, woods and trails, wild life. and 2 miles from our front door.

I love the variety of different fences. Perhaps that tiny graveyard is for dogs!

the Dakota Village fence seems to not belong- at least to me. Cheers!

Good guess but no. The spilt rail is there!

Nope she's wrong! The golfer that I think you are needs to look again! Hint, hint!

I agree! Fun place especially when no one else was around!

Great photos of lovely fences. Since I joined this meme I really take notice of fences now :) There are some lovely ones out there, with lots of character.

Very nice collection and I really don't know which one does not belong. Maybe the golf one...
Although the white one is very different from the others...

Wonderful collection of fences! I would guess the golf one, but I am not positive. Have a happy weekend!

Guess I must be (dense) today because they all look like fences to me. I really like the zig-zag split rail fence.

I'm guessing the white picket fence around the tombstones? Thanks for stopping in at my blog and commenting today. I would respond to you personally, but you show up as a 'no reply blogger' without an email address, so I am not able. Nice fences. Love split rail!

I really like the cemetary fence, but that split rail is my pick!

I like this collection of fences. The cedar rail zig zag is my favourite. The cemetery must be very old. I'm guessing the one that doesn't belong is the picket fence. The rest are all cedar. :)

That zig-zag fence is intriguing.

A great selection. I really like the zig-zag one as someone has been really artistic and inventive to create that.
