On Monday we went hiking out my back door.
We discovered just one of Mr. Peter Rabbit's hiding spots.
Carmi's choice of chaotic seems just for this day. After an early morning and whole day of skipping through the whispering fields around my house, who should greet us? You'd be correct if you guessed, a lively tick on Lyra's dress. Now how chaotic is that for this beastly annoyance to beat out our spring sprouts? Barely a crocus in view, and yet, this thriving attaching pest lives!
How did we feel about it?
Not one word necessary!

Better get our light colored, long pants on. No more Fairy Princess romping through the fields for us.
Which arrives first, the buds or the insects?

I followed your link to ticks - they look revolting! Do you have a lot of trouble with them? Love your photos of "outside your back door" What a gorgeous place to live!
Gilly yes we do! They can be quite bothersome, and it's the deer ticks we worry most about. It's Frontline on all our pets that's for sure, and it helps. They don't usually arrive quite so early, but there is chaos in our nature this year, as mold is much more present after our hard winter, so allergy folks have it bad this year as well!
her face is precious! :)
Peter Rabbit seems to like chaos. Great extended back yard you have there!
Ewwww, ticks! I remember the days of not knowing anything about them but I sure do now, nothing good to say about them is there? We go for a lot of walks and only once did we forgot to check for ticks when we first moved here. We found several of them on us and even crawling up the wall in our house the next day. It sent me into a frenzy of self-checking and cleaning. It seemed to be very bad for ticks that year but as we well know, if you love the outdoors this literally comes with the territory. Never again will we forget to check.
That's a precious photo of your little girl and love the look of the area you live in.
That first shot looks really familiar *wink*
Hehehe! Mac!
"EWWWWWWWWWW!"
The downside of nature...annoying pests!
How about some doggerel?
Great fleas have little fleas upon their backs to bite 'em,
And little fleas have lesser fleas, and so ad infinitum.

Insects before buds every time, just watch the birds find them.
This tick business seems to be an American problem, here I associate ticks with sheep.
Yep, life can be chaotic! Thanks for checking in--I hope to get a new post up soon!
Good morning! I'm excited to see it. I hope your world has more spring to it than ours! Brrr! And oh so rainy!
